Honesty is good...

^ DocProf: thanks for the heads up! I'd like to make this as accurate as is feasible.
There were other options for 813:
Edgebrook DGC, Hole 12
Southeast Park, Hole 13 (Pin B)
Sioux Passage, Hole 16 (Pin C)

Of those I listed above, only Sioux Passage actually has pix of the listed hole, but nothing showing the pin in position. Chances are one of them is a legit 813', but we just don't have pix.

I picked Finnon because Hole Info shows hole 12 as 813ft, and it seemed different.

That being said, having looked at numerous course Hole Info pages while searching and posting for this thread, I'm not sure how accurate some of the Alt Pin Positions and (and even some of the alt tee lengths) listed for certain courses/holes are. Sometimes things look fine, but there are others where as you start clicking around and looking, you get the feeling some things just don't make sense.

Throw in the fact that tees and baskets get moved over time, but course pages (and most certainly course maps) don't necessarily get updated.

What should we take away from all this?
Seems like anyone who cares about the accuracy of the info on this site should go to their local course(s) and see if they can confirm the hole info data for that course, and kindly update the page for that course if they have what they genuinely feel to be more reliable data. Just print out the hole info/score card from here before you go to the course and see if things jive... or not.

So, anyone care to find us an 819 footer so I can card another 6?*

* 7 or 8 if its wooded/brushy

Most of the hole lengths posted on finnon aren't accurate. Next time I play there I'm going to GPS the length of each hole and pin position. Ill update the info once that's done

819'

I'd like to see a map or aerial photo of this course - hole info shows water in play on half the holes (but this ain't one of them).

River Chase DGC in Union, SC
Hole 3: 819 ft

Hunter Mountain Disc Golf Course

Hole 9 820ft Can you say 20sec of hang time? This hole is so much fun to empty a bag on.

No, but I bet I could say "watch my disc float off into the trees never to be seen again."

Cool looking hole.

What are those wooden boxes with the poles sticking out of them?

Snow guns. It's a 3 season course @ a ski resort. www.huntermtn.com

And throwing into the trees is not too bad it's a row only about 20 ft thick then another ski trail on the other side.

this whole looks awesome. thats one thing about the courses i play, they lack elevation like that. i wanna throw a 500 foot down hill hole, but in iowa there hard to find.

^this... Guess I'll empty my bag while I'm up here, just to lighten my load for the long, arduous trek down the hill.
