the saint has massive overlap with a PD. in my opinion you need to go much slower, and much faster to find a friend. i use leopards and destroyers, even though the PD goes nearly as far as a destroyer. other good options for slower drivers are cyclones, gazelles, FDs, anything speed 7 or slower, and neutral to understable since the PD powers down so well.

I use PDs as my control/fairway drivers.

CFR CPD - most overstable, flies like a Predator
SPD - work horse, beaten in slightly
shield stamp SPD - has less HSS but retains the LSS

I didn't like my PPD that much (too touchy IMO ... sometimes would turn and burn, other times it wouldn't even flip).

Until one of my SPDs gets flippy enough, I've been using a slightly beaten TL for controlled flippy shots.


Mids are Rocs. Distance Drivers are Destroyers/Scorpius and potentially Prodigy D1/D2

I too love the PD. I pair it with many pairs cause I have an abundance of fairway drivers but something close to that speed that will turn for you might be a Valkyrie.

80% of my driver shots are with a PD. I have all three plastics in various points of wear.

That said, I usually have a very overstable driver, longer understable, shorter understable, and an open distance disc in the bag. For me those discs are:

Overstable: Z Pred
Longer understable: STD or Star Sidewinder
Shorter understable: Leopard or seasoned QJLS or MJLS or SFD
Distance: Blizzard Destroyer or seasoned Destroyer in any plastic

I use to throw PD's but now I throw OLF's. They are pretty close. I complement my OLF with flippy XL's and Q-Astra. My overstable complement is the Villain, sometimes I use a Firebird/PD2 combo. Leopard are a good alternative to the XL.

From my experience which is only with patent pending S-PD's and opto Saints. Those two discs don't overlap at all.

PD and Volt are my only drivers currently.

Forgot to add my driver lineup.

Rivers in GL and Opto for turnovers and dead straight shots.
TD's in S and C for a little more fade at the end of flight than Rivers.
PD's S and C for a more stable to left finishing control driver.
Destroyer for max distance only.

I also use the PD and Destroyer for most forehand shots too.
