Securing Basket... Questions
I have 2 questions..
1 - Are most baskets Welded, Epoxied or just Bolted to their poles.... 2 - In you opinion would Local Clubs, Cities etc, be interested in purchasing Tamper Proof Bolt Kits that would help eliminate Theft, Welding, and Epoxying. Ultimate goal is to help eliminate basket theft but at the same time making it easier and more cost effective to install baskets.... Your input will be a huge help.... Thanx

We bolt our baskets to the poles and padlock them into the sleeves. Our club hasn't seen any basket thefts though (knock on wood). I have seen welded to the pole and the sleeve as well by a nearby club with a larger basket theft problem though. I have used tamper and theft "resistant" bolt kits at work and I'm not optimistic they would stop any but a casual basket thief. Anyone stealing for scrap will not be deterred.

Last year, I modified over a dozen Discatchers. I got very good at removing the anti-theft bolts they have. Takes me all of 38 seconds to get one out of the ground now. Save your money on the tamper stuff and weld something solid in there to secure it.

The anti theft bolts I'm speaking of have no drive in other words there is no screw driver to remove them..
