I too underestimated the size of the jar. When making my original estimate I attempted to get some sort of perspective on its size relative to surrounding objects.

I think most posters missed the part of the OP where he mentions 4.5 liters. If they had seen that, they wouldn't have been guessing so low.

I totally didn't even try, lol. I didn't even read people's guesses, otherwise I wouldn't have guessed exactly what Martin did, lol. I knew that bottle would hold a chit ton though, my buddy used to keep bottlecaps or beer tabs in one and it seemed endless.
