basket giveaway question

if I was wanting to donate a basket to a club and recoup my cost of the basket can you all think of anyway that could be done? this would be done so we could raise money for future baskets.

-maybe an ace throw off for x amount of dollars with multiple throws
- or throw a doubles tourney or at a league event to raise funds

- any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Set up a reachable but not easy throw (if everyone has the distance for it, you'll get more takers), and offer something like 1 throw for 2 bucks and 3 throws for 5 bucks. Have it set up all day at a tournament, and offer that if anyone hits the ace they keep the basket. You can set up a "reserve" and make it clear that you're only giving away the basket if a certain amount is raised. If you don't raise enough, you give the winner the cash and try again at another event.

what are line cards?

otherwise known as strip cards

each card has 10 lines. You sell the lines for whatever amount you want. use a basketball game as example. Add up the last 2 numbers from each score, so if its 84-91 it would be the 4+1 and the winning number would be 5. BUT when you sell the lines, people write their name on them where they want, and there is a scratch off part next to it with the unknown number.

whoever wins the basketball game on the line card gets half, and you get the other half
