Doesn't do much. You decelerate after the hop, then accelerate again. If you're working on your form, work from fewer steps (standstill preferably) and try to acelerate the whole time. Add steps when you've got your standstill down.

How far are you throwing and how accurate is it?

This. It looks to me like your run up is ridiculously long and I think it might be something you subconsciously are doing to add the little hop in. Try and start your run up where you would be right after your hop.

i often throw with just a couple of steps. These were a few buzz shots that went about 320. I have more vids too that I can get up. It's only when i'm throwing hard that i do this i've noticed.
I can throw about 420 controlled...further if i have some space for long turnovers and am really trying to crush it. |

Your arm is crunched against your chest so your elbow never gets forward of the shoulder for a good whip from the core. Learn to throw farther slower and smoother and more compact.

Which hop? The first or second? Neither is probably a big deal.
One thing I notice is your left arm (~ 10 sec mark) moves in sync with your right arm. There's usually a pause where the left arm is kept at the side at the beginning of the pull... just an observation for you to experiment with if you want. Could be many causes, eg, lack of acceleration, lack of flexibility, bad timing. |
