What draws you to a tournament?

I know this thread has been done before but I would like current data. What I am asking for, please, is what you look for in deciding which tournaments to attend. I would like to compile a list of factors from you and then create a poll that is based on your responses, not my biases. List as many factors as you want I will periodically check in and list potential poll categories until we're satisfied we have a good sample.

Thanks

I like getting tourney stamped discs. Any tourney that offers a tourney stamp disc; I'm in. I play for the competition, but I'm not quite on that pro time yet, so in essence I'm playing for discs anyway.

I live in a sorta small area, so there hasn't been a whole lot of tourneys anyway

It's mostly about atmosphere for me. The extras like players packs, CTPs, and side games are fun and all, but that's not what I go to tournaments for. I go to have fun playing and spending time with good people.

The course itself is probably the second biggest factor.

Location and if I am available to play are the biggest factors for me. I like the competition. I am not picky about players packs. They are a bonus.

Value. While cocky online, I always go into a tourney expecting to place just below cash.
If the tourney is cheap and I get a free tourney stamp disc I am happy.

Also the tourney needs to be with in 2 hours. PDGA sanctioned does not matter.
The course does matter a little, I hesitate to play giles run.

Factors I weigh are the competition, the course & the TD/host.

I just want to get better, at tournaments you can see others with skills you may not have or have not refined yet. Tourneys widened my shot variations.

When there are funny money payouts, it really helps if I know I can spend any winnings I may get on site. A lot of tournaments around here do payouts through Community Discs and Justin is usually there with a tent set up.

Even when I don't win anything, I usually end up buying one or two discs anyway.
