The Chris Mess Bash@ Stoney Hill

December 28. Or maybe December 29.

Once again, we're tempting fate with our annual bring-your-partner doubles event, for everyone in and near South Carolina who doesn't have anything better to do between Christmas and New Years. And, unless you're on holiday vacation, I'm guessing that's about everyone.

It will feature a single 24-hole round, with 3 different doubles formats. In past years it has also featured some new or experimental holes, and there's always a chance that'll happen again.

We'll play matchmaker for any unattached singles who want to come.

Check in is at 12:30, play starts at 1:00. Players are welcome to show up in the morning and play a casual round, but if you do, we recommend packing a lunch.

The date is tentatively set for Saturday, December 28, but could be moved to Sunday in the event of adverse weather. This is not an ice bowl, after all.

I'm thinking I'll be able to play, only problem is I'm not sure if I'm working Friday. If I'm off for sure, I may go to my parents to have Christmas with them, then come back Sunday. If I work, then I'll be home.

We've scheduled good weather for next weekend. Now, if only the weather service will accept their forecast as a binding contract....

8-8-8 hole format

Chris,
Which holes are going to be for which format. With the numbering of the holes at Stoney, I am just wondering. Way things read first 8 will be tough shot. Will we be playing all 1a,1b,1c as tough which would make 1a-6 tough, 7-14a as alternate, then the rest as choice.

Yes, that is correct. On 1a, both players have to land on the island
