Im guessing your doing mookys cup.. good luck man! I have several buddies trying to adapt to the cold/rain tomorrow also!! From what they tell me about johnson street its a fair kindly shorter course that rewards solid drives and good putts, it is my buddy's home course so main thing is either keep your putter's dry with a towel/under an umbrella, putting with dx plastic in the rain is the way to go in my opinion also

I tend to throw less Champion/Z plastic stuff when it rains because it gets so slick. I try to stick with Star/ESP and base plastic.
this ^^ base plastic FTW in the rain!

do youself a favour and invest in a pair of these:

I always keep extra socks, shoes and clothes in the car. On a rainy or wet day I have a set to change between rounds and another set to change after the second round so the day's not miserable. I also have a full extra set of towels in the car so I can start the second round with dry towels. A birdie bag helps get the last bit of dampness off your hand and disc after you've toweled them off.

This^^!

Aside from an extra towel for the teepad under my plant foot, I don't do anything different in the rain.

Waterproof gear= boots, jacket, rain pants. I try to wear breathable high performance gear under said coat, and wool socks in case my boots turn into buckets.

Waterproof discs= dx gazelle, teebird, whippet, roc, aviars/ SSS warlocks

Towels= lots of these. keep the dry ones in bags.

Thanks for all the quick responses. I took a lot of the advice but ended up using a few things i brought along (in part because the rain was minimal) I think the biggest advantage from all the prep work was for my mental game. I felt so prepared that it added to my confidence. I finished fourth in rec, not exactly the result I wanted but I took a lot of positives from the event, and of course had a blast.

Throw straight and controlled drives with midranges and putters. Don't take as many steps on the teepad if they are wet, try standstill drives. If it's not cold, go with minimal clothing. Hardest part to me is that lots of rain in the northern part of the country is cold, and layering up with wet heavy clothes on your arms really impacts every bit of your game. I've found that I need to just accept being soaked, and if it's cold I try to wear tight fitting compression shirts.

I adjust by staying home instead of playing. Playing in the rain sucks. I play for the competition, and the fun. The rain sucks every ounce of fun out of a round for me, so I don't even bother. I would rather stay home and be productive.
