Here is a shot I put a small amount of OAT on.
(hope that works, I'm on my iPad so I can't tell, the throw starts around 30sec mark) I started my pull on a hyzer line, but my follow-through shows that I came flat with a little roll at the end. The disc still came out with hyzer, so the wrist roll just delayed the disc from turning left. Worked out as planned as that particular shot ended up flying right over the basket. It wasn't my idea to shoot the video from that angle...

I OAT my spike hyzers. Roll under as opposed to over. Makes the disc act more stable and gives a more up-and-down flight.
Sometimes I put too much on it; it goes sideways then. |

Spin will stabilise the disc quicker, but that does not change the fact that there was wobble to begin with. |

There's different forms of oat, what jenb is describing is more of nose manipulation or pitching attitude. The problem that noobs have with oat is that they have so much of it and don't know what a clean swing plane is or have good swing mechanics.

This is something I know I have done while changing my mind mid throw, "****, too much hyzer!" and I level out on the release and the results are... hyzer for 100', looking like a bad shot, and then a surprise turn and hitting the gap I wanted with the usual fade. Very different from a bad pull that comes out wobbly, turning and slowing quickly.
I think most players learn with this mechanic, torquing their Wraiths/Destroyers/Bosses. They don't know they're doing it or how to control it. They then need to unlearn it to get the fundamental mechanics down, and then relearn it later as an advanced technique. I'm somewhere in the middle there and I won't be trying to do this on purpose anytime soon. Though I do "corkscrew" my upshots sometimes to twist around trees, putter control over 70' is a lot different than driver control over hundreds of feet.

That's too complicated for me, and I have enough OAT problems as is.
