How about something like below where it's not hard to figure out the pecking order of divisions:
MPO=Titanium
MA1=Platinum
MA2=Gold
MA3=Silver
MA4=Bronze

FPO=Diamond
FA1=Ruby
FA2=Emerald

I'd be on board.

Got some names for us geezers? Maybe degrees of corrosion? "Gold, well-oxidized"?

This is apparently a regional issue. For years I've been scouring results around here for signs of actual non-member sandbagging, but can't find them.
Even before the event I heard a guy ask him why he was playing in the intermed. His answer was he hadn't played the course in awhile and didnt really like playing it and has took a couple weeks off from throwing.

The original Ratings Divisions were specified in 2000 as:
Pro: Gold - Silver - Bronze - Ferrite
Am: Blue - White - Red - Green

Most of the time what you won was the opportunity to spend even more money to go to another event with no chance for winning anything. The system where am's only play for trophies has worked for dozens if not hundreds of different activities. There's no reason to think that DG would be an exception.
I agree. I've competed in quite a few sports at an am level, and have trophies as mementos. If DG made the change UNIVERSALLY, then for maybe for a little while you'd have a downturn in entries..but then, guess what, people like competing at things, they'll come back. If they don't, then they were the players i didn't like competing against since they were just in it for the plastic, which isn't cool really.

I'd be all for it. Heck, i play open at some tourney's just so i don't have to deal with the am payouts of prearranged discs i'll never use. At least in open if i play well i have a chance at getting my money back.

It's TDs not the PDGA that determines whether there are Am payouts. It would make little difference if the PDGA required no payouts for Ams since TDs could just choose not to sanction if they didn't agree with the low/no payout requirement. Payouts for pros would also go down as a result of that policy so there's no benefit I can see for no payouts. If anything, Am entry fees and payouts should be increased in some areas since demand is easily filling events at teh current level of fees and payouts.

Normally I would say play your rating, but you are a very recognizable guy and people know you from pre injury. People will not know you are injured and will think you are bagging it to fill the truck.
I will back you up no matter what you decide.
