I think there needs to be a level above pro, called Touring Pro, that has to be qualified into to be a part of. Oh wait, there is a list of all current touring pros that required qualifying for based on merit.....hmmm, maybe you can't play in the touring pro division at M and NT's unless you are on that list? (like the PGA has)

Then there are "Local Pros", or people who play for money. (discs are money, vouchers are money, if you can turn it into money it's money and should be considered not amateur)

Then Amateurs who play for trophy only and the experience of competing. If you don't feel it is worth paying for the tournament without some sort of payout, then play pro, or don't play.

I don't understand how this is tough to get. This is the only sport I've been associated with in all my years of playing sports that gives cash valued prizes for amateur competition.
Im a 990 rated euchre player.

454 signed up so far, 82%.

I'm thinking this is going to fill, even if 'trophy only'.

GBO still gave away payouts to the top field.

Top Advance guy got $300 payout, plus players pack that was valued at, what $140?

The total caps on the two new combined pools are even higher if needed but the numbers are the current estimates for the moment.

I didn't read the other thread, but Rusco's response is great.

I'm really mad I didn't sign up for AM worlds now...it looks to be a great one!

Are there enough Euchre players in NC to get a game going? I find if I stray too far from MI, folks have no idea how to say that word, let alone play.

I love Euchre. Great game, but I think 1978 and I might be the only people in NC that know how to play.

Most of the best Euchre players in NC play AM events, it is hard to get 4 players in the Pro division.

Last tournament I played in we got a players pack: 2 decks of cards, 2- 10 sided die, and shirt that says "All Jacked Up" (Play eucher) ((the minor jack switches suit, dummy!) The cards faded as soon as I pulled them from the box...

We always played if your partner goes alone... he gets your best card. That appears to be house rules.

That'll get you run out of Michigan faster than a buckeye shirt.

That kind of misses the point of going alone.
