I have a week to get to the Carolinas and back

I've been threatening to do this for a while now, and I'm finally getting off my butt and doing it. Looking for some course recommendations. Here's my plan:

Day 1
Head south from the Cincinnati area to Asheville, NC and play a 9 hole and two 18s along the way. I was looking at Knoxville, TN for the 18s. Stay overnight in Asheville.

Day 2
Early morning round somewhere in Asheville, followed by a venture into SC for a stop in Greenville and Rock Hill before landing in Charlotte for the night.

Day 3, 4, 5?
I want to play a lot in Charlotte. I love heavily wooded courses, and it seems like where I should be focusing my attention.

Day 5 or 6
Perhaps a stop at Sugaree in Linville and Armco Blue and White in KY.

My biggest concern at this time is weather. I will have my dog Smokey with me, and he's not the best in the heat (bully mix). I haven't really set a date yet. Is mid-late May, early June going to be really hot and humid?

The furnace tends to get stoked up in early June; the humidity really rises usually in late June.

Thanks for the update Tom. It sounds like I'll be alright if I make the trip in May. I definitely didn't want to wait until October!

If I had three days to play in Charlotte:

Day 1
Bradford Long 2 hr, Hornets Nest 2 hr (3 if you play web), Nevin Long 2 hr (north side)

Day 2
Elon Angry 2 hr, Winget 1.5 hr, Renny Gold 2.5 hr (south side)

Day 3
RL Smith 1.5 hr, Sugah 1.5 hr, Eastway 1.5 hr, Kilborne 1.5 hr (I-85 corridor)

Looking at some of those courses, I have a feeling that I'm not going to want to leave! Charlotte is a hotbed of IT too, right?

Play Harmon Hills on the way to Asheville... Skip Knoxville.
Get to the I-81 / I-40 interchange and head north on I-81 for an hours or so. Play Harmon Hills and then take the I-26 down to Asheville.

I'd skip everything in Knoxville and Asheville to play Harmon Hills. Even if HH was all you got to play.

The name Harmon Hills sounds really familiar. I remember now. With Jerry passing away, is the course open to play?

The course looks amazing too.

You might want to integrate Rock Hill (Winthrop) into your Charlotte days. It's pretty darn close (30 minutes away). Bring the course map with you if you want to play the Gold course (no signage and basket numbering doesn't match).

Wow, I mean, I love disc golf, but this doesn't sound fun to me all in one day
