Long term storage of idye poly in detergent?

I want to start dyeing discs using the paint on method and I got to wondering, can you mix up a batch of paint, about a cups worth, and store it over a long period of time? If anyone has done this, have you had any issues with the stability of the mixture?

I don't use idye poly since I still have tons of old rit. However I mix my rit with detergent and store it in little 4 oz. glad containers. I've got probably about 30 of them and I do almost all of my multi color dyes painted on with this method. I've had them stored like this for about a year. Some of them even longer with absolutely no problem.

Same here -- I've stored dye mixes since I started getting serious about it, some are easily a couple years by now. No problems, color still takes well.

Ok thanks. Also I've got these 1 cup mason jars and packets of idye and I've seen mixing ratio recommendations for small mixes, but do they scale up well? I want to be able to get a mix pretty concentrated so I can dilute as needed. How much powder should I mix for 1/2 a cups worth?
