Heading down to San Diego tomorrow from Ventura

Where should I stop and play, besides Morley Field (that is our Destination)?
I can head down the 101, or I-5, or any other route that takes us by cool courses.

la mirada is right off the 5 at valley view and is, IMHO, the best course in socal. should def check it out.

I shocked that there's a course in SoCal that Tom hasn't already played.

El Dorado is near La Mirada and is a quick fun round of 18. I doubt you are looking to stop and play 36 holes at La Mirada.

thats a great course too but my arm feels like jell-o after playing half the course or so. be prepared to throw holes that are 3x your avg distance if you play EI.

eldo is a great 18 as well. im there every day and would be happy to guide you through the course, should you need one.

if you only play 18 at la mirada, play the back. the front has tons of foot traffic, a nasty lake and mean geese!

Avoid La Mi (unless you want to spectate) as they are having the SoCal AM Championships this weekend. El Do is fun but Emerald Isle would be more exciting (I think that you need to contact Emerald Isle first these days to make sure of the disc golf hours...). Chavez Ridge is a fun challenge on some pretty extreme hillsides and close to 101 and 5 Fwys.
