Sugaree

Saw a couple of posts about visiting Sugaree this summer and just wanted to let everyone know the course is closing on June 1. Not getting near enough traffic to justify keeping the course maintained.
Need to focus on getting the property ready for a july wedding and growing Christmas trees, which is what pays the bills.
The amount of weed-eating required to keep the course from being a plastic easter egg hunt is staggering. I fought the good fight, but not this summer.
Depending on where my energy level is in August, I may re-open, but please do not schedule a trip in june or july.

Man, you're going to let a little thing like a wedding interfere with disc golf?? Are you drinking O'Douls and Shirley Temples now too?

Just ask Brother Dave or Brother Dave's brother about the house of horrors, they will tell you...lotta work to do on the old farm.

Well, you'll probably have a good number of people around for the wedding. Sounds like a good opportunity to hand out some scythes and gas trimmers to all the guests.

Not a bad idea. It will look like Vietnam by then with all this rain. Thousands of stump sprouts that will be head high.

Wouldn't Brother Dave's Brother just be Dave? No, I guess not, but that made me think and laugh.

Sugaree is some pretty land, but it has to be an endless job to try and tame the abundant plant growth there during the summer.

Tough news, but completely understandable.

I don't understand how you managed it, to begin with, and I only saw it in an earlier, and presumably smaller, version.

I'll be crossing my fingers that in the future, you can mange it on at least a seasonal basis, and I'll get a chance to visit again.

Maybe it's time for a judicious application of Agent Orange.

Yup. I don't think you made it to 13, but it has two lanes and takes an entire day just to weed-eat that one hole. Good place for a swing blade and and Caddyshack quotes.

I was stealing from Peter to pay Paul. In another year my tree farm would be in shambles.
