Old SE Super Roc - info?
Bought a used SE Super Roc from someone locally and havent been able to find much info on when it was made. It has one of the older Innova bar stamps with 'Special Edition Super Roc' and 'Mid-Range Driver' under that. It was probably in a pond at some point - it has some weird black marks on the top. Plus someone decorated the top with a magic marker at some point. Definitely a thrower and not one to hang on the wall. Any info would be appreciated, thanks!

Those old things? They suck. I'll do you a favor and take it from you so you don't have it around screwing up your game.

haha ill let you know whenever i decide to get rid of it, im sure i will at some point. its a cool old disc but if i lose it im certainly not going to plunk down the cash to replace it and i think it makes more sense to throw discs that are relatively easy to find and replace. i can understand for players that have been in the game for a long time and came up with certain discs, but for me its just another disc.
any idea what mold it is? the bottom of it was sanded at some point so the imprint is long gone. its obviously not as stable as my two newer super rocs (05 and 08) but is still pretty straight and sometimes i can get a nice super late turn with it. unfortunately its 183g so I guess not tourney legal? Guess I wont tell anyone... |

Its a rancho roc in old driver SE plastic. They start off nice, but beat in quick to a squirrelly understable, not like a good KC understable.
They were made around 98-00. Only one run too, I believe. |

yea it could use a little cleaning. thanks for the info dave! it still seems pretty stable, no damage to speak of outside of usual wear. it definitely has some high speed turn but not a ton, certainly not flippy and i can throw some long hyzers with it.
seems like most of the super rocs ive thrown are like that. they certain get beat in, but dont seem to get crazy flippy like other rocs do. they get less stable but never seem to become high speed understable like most rocs. |
