European Open and President's Cup

I don't know how many of you out there are big into following the European Tour and the players from across the pond, but I personally am extremely geeked up to see how things go this year. With some top American pros being backed by Latitude64 and with the addition of Ragna and Seppo to Prodigy, the blending of the 2 disc golf worlds has been more than in the past. I think Jesper might be making an appearance again, and it's always a pleasure to see him play.

And the President's Cup makes its return!

Captains are Avery Jenkins for USA and Marco Lehouse for EUR.

For the USA I think Feldberg is a lock. Most likely Ricky as well, if his injury has healed by then. Nate Doss is I'm sure in, along with McBeth. Then I can see maybe 1 Master. The 2 women will be a combo of Paige Pierce and Val again, or Paige and Hokum (the 2 best this year), or Val and Hokum.

As for Europe, Ragna is a given for one of the women. I'm not sure bout the other but it looks like Natalie Holloköi. Markus Kaelstrom is most likely there. Seppo Paju and Simon Lizotte and Tobias Ostling. I'd love to see Jesper come out and play, but I don't think he qualified as he hasn't really played much this year. We might see Tomas Ekstrom make the team.

I think this is one of the coolest events in our sport a chance to represent your country. Just like the Ryder Cup, you see some amazing players competing to bring glory to their land.

Any thoughts on how thing might shape up or what we're gonna see from the teams this year? Who do you think will make the team?

Found a link to the team. Surprised Ricky is not going and kind of surprised to see Val get the nod over Catrina.

Cale seems like the biggest snub on the men's team, although he hasn't been playing as much and maybe just can't go. Valarie not going seems really weird, she's still the #1 ranked woman and her brother and common law husband are both making the trip

Here are the final match play scores: http://instagram.com/p/b33pyIiMbb/

It looks like the Prodigy men went 0-3, but the girls dominated and the two world champs (McBeast and Doss) pulled out their matches.

Good win for team USA!
