in my past experience on web forums it doesn't work to well when you wait for people to get with you on what they want.

what seems to work decently well is to just toss out what your going to do and see how many people will order with you.

like this:

"hey guys i'm going to place an order to get a custom disc with "this picture" on it, but the minimum order is 25. since i don't need 25 all for myself i thought i'd see if anyone else is interested. the total cost is about $150 so the cost per disc would be around $6 each. who's in?"

that seems to be the best way to get something going, at least on the motorcycle forums that i'm on.

if you said you were going to do a group buy and for my $x.xx i'd get a driver and a midrange each with different pictures of your devil girl i'm sure i'd do it. the only issue would be getting people to agree on which driver and which midrange.

Everybody loves a DX Roc, right...? That seems to be the safe universal disc that would appeal to the most people.

@taxman - thanks for the advice, probably best to get a new thread going and see who's interested.

@ericJ -- Any suggestions on Innova are helpful, I only know Discraft right now. Will be expanding into other manufacturers next summer (finished my obsessive-compulsive analysis of Discraft this year)

if you go the innova route and don't mind putting a tournament date on the disc (you need a tournament date in order to purchase less discs and waive the setup fees) you can get DX discs for $4.40 each. i'm not sure how much shipping would be.

discraft seems to be quite a bit more.

as far as what discs to do i'd look to the list of discs people voted for in the 'if you could only carry one disc' thread.

there are lots of choices that would do well i think.

@taxman - I just sent Discraft an email, seems the custom pricing isn't on their site. I think the prices they had were for bulk retail orders. We'll see I guess.

Seems more people on this board are Innova-oriented anyways.

Here's Innova's disc models info:

The minimum disc per Custom Hot Stamp order is 50. The 25 minimum is per model.
The minimum for Full Color orders is 25. White DX Rocs and Aviars are the only models offered but no minimum per model.

No info on pricing replied to their email to ask about non-tournament disc pricing. They only have tournament disc pricing on the website.

Discraft:

Pro-D™ $8.99
Elite-X™ $10.99
Elite-Z™ $15.99
ESP™ $17.99

Color printing is an additional $2.50/25 & $2.00/50 per disc.

Just based off of the tournament pricing on Innova's site, it sounds like Innova would be a less expensive route.

Scratch those Discraft prices, waiting to hear back from them.

Pro-D not available and Elite-X base price is $6.99.

All of this really shouldn't be as difficult as it seems to be just to get prices & availability...

that discraft pricing is for stock discs with their regular hotstamp. if you go to http://www.discraft.com/pricing.html that has their price guide. the only thing i see there for the custom pricing is for the full Supercolor discs and it says $19.95 each.

http://www.discraft.com/order.html is the link for the discraft order forms. you can download them in pdf or excel format. if you want a custom hotstamp the minimum is 100 discs. and the supercolor is a minimum of 50 discs. it also says on the order form that you'll submit your order and they will get back to you with a quote. so maybe it could be done for cheaper than the $19.95/disc.
