I just realized I've lost 22 discs the last 7.5 years. I don't think my shavings in 33.8 years add up to even one whole disc.

I know someone used it as a way to poke fun at the o.p.'s concerns, but using Flywood's would be one way you could alleviate your concern. That guy even makes them with all natural and organic glue for laminate and treats them with hemp oil and bees wax. He was having some of the same concerns and wondering why we go out into nature and toss around a totally synthetic product... so he did something about it.

Eh, give them a try, they're actually good discs.
