You can now join the chatter of our non-DGCR friends on our Facebook event page:

If you want to play but don't have a team, or have a team but still short a member, this might be a good resource for matchmaking.

Although registration is a little slow right now, we do have several teams that have told us they were coming. However, there a few teams looking for players to complete their roster. If anyone is looking for a team, please post your name and rating here and I'll let them know.

Your registration will include free lunches Saturday and Sunday. Most likely ham or turkey sandwiches, chips, and a drink.

A gentle reminder that, once you have your team together, you can go ahead and pre-register. It will make the TDs happy and save time on Saturday morning.....and save you some money as well, since entries are lower in advance than on the day of the tournament.

And if you don't have your team together, let us know as well. We've heard from 7 or 8 teams, some incomplete, and a few teamless souls looking for a spot.

Well, the weather forecast for this weekend is terrific (at this point)---sunny, highs in the 60s, 0% chance of rain. I've been asked to not say that we've never had rain at an event at Stoney Hill, for fear of jinxing things, so I won't mention it. But it's looking pretty good right now.

Fabulous.

Well, except for the attendance, which was 6 teams (24 people). We knew it would be low, since it's something different than the usual tournament fare, and it can be hard to put together a 4-man team. We're hoping they'll spread the word and we can do it bigger and better next year; IDGC's team event had 6 teams last year, 15 this year.

We were experimenting with formats and the points system, and crossing all our fingers and other appendages that we hadn't screwed up the instructions or planning. Much to our relief, everything went very smoothly.

Weather was terrific, other than being rather cold Saturday morning. I've been asked to quit saying it, lest I jinx us, but it has NEVER RAINED AT AN EVENT AT STONEY HILL!. (Hear that, Connor?)

Team play is really a blast, and I encourage everyone to join us next year, or run your own. The PDGA is making a big push for more team play in 2014.

If the players who attended are being honest with us, everyone had a blast.

And, despite the low attendance, we raised over $500 for The Children's Heart Foundation, which funds research and education about genetic heart defects.
