For me it would be 4, putter mid, understable driver for BH, and overstable driver for flick.

I know people who play with just one disc. It really depends on your style & the type of player you are. Some people like the discs to do the work so they carry more discs than a person who uses only a few discs to work many lines with. I'd say you could get away with one putter, one stable Mid & one stable driver.

Good players who only use one disc are far more the exception than the rule.

I've been playing for a little over one year. For me, 6 discs in the Nutsac covers "local" courses well:

Pure: putting and short upshots.
Spike: short drives and long upshots.
Tursas: hyzer-flip to controlled turnover midrange. {handy for a LHBH player!}
Warship: straight with fade midrange.
Diamond: understable / neutral driver. {163g, high PLH, huge dome mutant!}
Suspect: upshots / short drives with fade, flicks, rollers, windy day putter, etc.

My "big" bag (13 discs) has the same molds, with multiple plastics for the midranges and Diamond. I also add in an AIR Saint and AIR Stag for more fairway stability...

I've played some courses with 3 discs:
moderately overstable driver
neutral mid
Challenger

Strangely, I only do that at local courses just for s&g. When I take a daytrip or road trip to play some destination DG, I bring my full bag, because chances are I'm not comin' back soon (if at all), and I wanna play the course with no compromises.

I think maybe 5...... Escape, Firebird, Teebird ,Buzzz, Warlock. I have seasoned versions of all and feel i can cover lots of shots with them. Any mold u feel u can manipulate to put on any line for the D u need to achieve (within your range) is how u should put together a minimalist bag.

Wow, look at this thread go. I meant to come back at some point and post a consensus.
This guy pretty much nailed the overlying theme of the thread.

Could be done with as little as 3-5, or even 1. Or 25
Seems like most leaning on between 7-10 from what I can tell.
Thanks all

My home course has had all the short pin positions in for the past few weeks, so I've really been enjoying taking my 1-year-old out in the stroller with 4 discs and shooting some pretty hot rounds.

175 soft Anode
177 z Comet
177 z Buzz
168 s PD
