south dakota state championships

I was wondering if anyone was playing the South Dakota states this weekend. Trying to get info about the event and there is very, very little online and not getting much response from the TD.

It says its a three day event but only looks like two actual days of golf.

No information on how many rounds are being played. I heard there was only 2 rounds but some divisions only play on Saturday? (1 Round?)

Is there a doubles round on Friday?

As a TD I know the last week before a event is hectic but it would be really nice to get an idea of what to expect at the event.

Hey,

Sorry you've been un able to find any information online about this event. There's actually a fair amount of it out there!

I'd start here: www.spearfishdisc.com

You'll find all the information about the schedule, start times, players meetings, and course maps.

For future reference, most South Dakota disc information gets posted here: www.southdakotadiscgolf.ning.com

p.s. I'm not the T.D. just a SD discer.

Also, just for future reference, most tournaments on the PDGA site have a website at the top of the player listing that contains the relevant information!

Hope to see you out there!

That Spearfish course was legit when it was 18. Have yet to play it as a 27.

Thanks for the update and I do know that the website it listed but up until a few days ago there was very little information on there basically just the flyer and basic info. I guess Im just used to a little bit more information LOL. But I checked out the updated website and I'm sure I can figure the rest of it out once I get up there.

I was also trying to find out if there was any planned doubles rounds planned for friday. If we have to be there on friday for the meeting in the evening just was curious if there was anything else planned for the day.

Excited to be coming up to play this weekend

Also, I saw that there are two cars up for grabs for Ace's on certain holes (I think this is a great idea and have been thinking about adding that to my events). How would that work if there are multiple aces on the same hole? Would there be a throw off after the event? Because this wouldn't be very fair to people that are teeing off later in the round. Just curious.

That is a good question and I'm also curious as to how this will/would be handled! I could see it going both ways, first to hit, or throw off.

As far as I know there's no planned doubles on friday. It also looks like rain/snow for friday, so that's a bummer.
