I think we go nuts a lot of times in our sport with this "ethics" code with discs. If you find a disc that has been wilfully abandoned by its previous owner, and it is marked on the back, it is a nice thing to do to call and try to return the disc somehow.

But by leaving the disc where it was, its previous owner has relinquished ownership by calling it lost. It has become the universe's disc.

I am all for returning discs if it is convenient and the previous owner is interested and willing to take the effort. I have myself called and returned discs. And it is definitely a good feeling to do a good deed like that.

But in the end, a lost disc is a lost disc. Its not a lost bar of gold. Its a recreational item from a game that has the inhernt risk of disc loss.
