The search for discs. Could there be a solution?

Hi guys,

I've only been a lurker before, but like many others, I spend a lot of both time in searching for shots and money in replacing lost discs. This is my first year playing.

Iím an industrial design student at a university in the northeast, and I put together a survey in the hopes of getting some data around this problem. I realize there are a lot of great threads on lost discs, and am combing them thoroughly for info, but I was hoping for some concentrated/concrete data.

Itíll only take a few minutes (mostly multiple choice), so if some of you guys would take the time to fill out the survey, Iíd greatly appreciate it!

SURVEY IS HERE

Any comments or interesting stories would be appreciated as well.

Thanks in advance guys.

Disclosure: No identifying details are collected. Iím posting this on a couple of other forums in hopes of getting more data.

A survey on lost discs. Okay, now, I've seen it all.

Maybe I'll take this when I have more time.

Yea, really not much you can do about this. The solution is simple. Throw your disc in the fairway.

Considering there are so many factors involved in losing discs, i'm not sure what you are hoping to accomplish.

I thought the question "how many discs do you lose a year" is a little unfair simply because until this summer I hadn't lost a disc for about 7 years. Although I do enjoy taking surveys about disc golf :P

Just yesterday, however, I left my disc at a hole like a n00b and didn't pick it up. I had to run back to the hole after I realized what I had done. Crisis averted.

If you're serious about the game you'll eventually get to the point where you don't lose discs anymore.

Ha, not quite. If you play the same course all the time maybe. I'm reasonably serious about playing and I lose discs on a pretty regular basis. Nearly all of them happen when I'm playing new to me courses on a road trip. Also, the lake at Winthrop after the top pros in the world get done playing there might have something to say about the subject too...
