Thumbs up Top Courses of 2013!

Happy new year everyone!

The tradition continues and I've put together the top courses list for 2013. As always, there's an overall top 50 and a top 50 based only on reviews in 2013.

Enjoy!

normally i wouldnt argue with this but the fact that springwood players course is on any best of list makes me wonder why courses must have 10 reviews in one year to qualify for the list. seems like moving it down to 5 would be more sufficient and you'd get a better list of the year. springwood is rated 2.45 for climos sake.

rant over, thanks again timg for all the work you do to make this site possible every year.

It's good to see a couple courses close to me still make the list.

I know of one remote and lightly-reviewed course which would shine under the 5-review standard. On the other hand, the recent flurry of boosterism at Pendleton King reveals why 5 may not be enough.

Random thoughts:

8 of the top 10 are pay to play.

Flip City is 3rd, but has three times as many reviews as the top two combined.

Zero top 50 courses in Ohio out of 171 total for the state.

Just be happy that you live in a state that has 171 freaking courses in it, not to mention the states around you. Not everyone is as lucky as you., and thanks Timg.

Oh I am happy, so very happy to have 171 courses in my state. And about 20 of the ones worth playing are within 2 hours drive, PLUS, I'm not too far from "that state up north" which also has lots of excellent courses.

Not everyone is as lucky as me, but some are more lucky, such is life.

And seconds on the thanks to Timg

One course in North Carolina in the top 50, and as much as I like Ashe County, there are many, many better courses in NC.

But it is what it is, a list based on this year's review data, and so long as this site gets good traffic and the courses are listed on the map, this will continue to be the best DG site going.

Thanks as always Timg!
