Or tape a long thread of solid color (blue or red works) to the bottom so that the end of the thread will stay on top of the snow even when your disc isn't.

The problem is finding the virgin snow. Sometimes it is hard to get out there before anyone else has played.
 
When we walked up to this cool bench at Idlewild (I think it's by the long tee on 14) I just had to pull my latest dye (GL river) out and click a pic

^thanks! yeah, I dyed the stencil black on a GL river and then added the shading to the outer rim with blue on the already purlply disc
