2013 Goals

Would like to record my first ace, continue to drop my scores on the local courses, push my distance out 25 to 50 more feet, and PUTT BETTER!!!

Play enough tournys to qualify for Portland Worlds 2014 in Pro Grandmaster division. Will necessitate travelling more and hitting NT events. So, Masters Cup is prolly first. Maybe Vegas this year! Sacremento area tournys will be a must too.

1. Keep improving my putting. Putting became the best part of my game this year. Saved me alot of strokes.
2. Get my first Ace
3. Try to stay somewhat in shape during the black months here in MN.
4. Stay involved in my league
5. Increase my distance by 30'.

Reach 200 courses, 15 states in the next year.
Road trips in NC, WI, north CA.
Help get courses in the ground in Anacortes WA and Enterprise OR.
Putting? Meh...

Send me a note if you're going to be in NC. I'm on the NC/VA border.

As for goals:
1. As with many of you, putt better. Consistent regular practice and build confidence.
2. Double my states played (currently at 5, so 10-12 is good).
3. Double my courses played (currently at 46, so 100 would be nice).
4. Increase my number of tourney wins (3 in MA1 in 2012, so 3+ in MA1/MPO would work).
5. Improve my rating to 980 and maintain. I'm still proud I've never lost ratings points at an update.
6. Play with more DGCR peeps.
7. Swap tag #69 at least 5 times.

No particular order:
1. Buy a PDGA membership:thmbup:
2. Work on my 50'-100' putting.
3. Consistently drive past 425' BH.
4. Regain a 350' FH. (Lost it when I learned how to BH)
5. Travel outside of the Boise area to play.
6. Enter at least 5 tournaments.
7. Play outside my comfort zone. IE random casual rounds with people I don't know, people who I know that are better than me, etc.
8. Learn BH rollers.

3) To have played every public accessible course in WI by the end of 2013. Private courses will be bonus courses and not included in this quota. I have about 50/220 left to play which includes a few private courses listed on DGCR.

This is so hard for me. The vast majority of courses in my home state that I haven't played are terrible. Driving for 3 hours for a terrible course, difficult. Wrapping it together with a great course, probable.

1: To simply take the time and play more
2: Get some new courses under my belt
3: Get more consistent. I can shoot lights out one day and the next look like someone who just found a disc on the course and tried to throw it :gross:
4: Meet more DGCR members

1. Win a MPO tournament this year (4 second places last year)
2. Get rating up to at least 990 (1000 would be nicer! 974 right now)
3. Get my new course in the ground (pending approval by the city)

I have many other smaller goals like improve putting ect, but to achieve these main goals I must accomplish all of the smaller goals!

Almost all of the 50 courses I have not played are in the northwest quarter of WI . . . while 3-6 hours away I have to simply go to that area and knock them off one by one. I am thinking an early spring trip to play a bunch, maybe a mid summer one, and then a final loop of the state in the fall to pick off any newly added courses. It is likely some will pop up even shortly after I am able to complete the task, but to say I had at one point played all 220 courses in my home state will be huge. I plan to contact to visitors bureau and show them exactly how much of an economic impact disc golf can have on a community, even if I do not represent the norm.

I jotted down a bunch of goals for 2013 earlier but some of the main ones are:

1. Continue field work to improve release consistency
2. Continue putting, learn to add spin to putts when needed to work the disc around obstacles or under low ceiling.
3. Improve focus, eliminate shots missed due to mental distraction
4. Get in the woods and start doing field work actually practicing scramble/recovery shots.
5. Average 990-1000 rated rounds by season's end (currently average game is sitting around 960-980).

Become DOMINANT on the golf course.

But really, stop sucking at putting and get rating to 950 by years end (currently at 913)
