Simple, anonymous poll to gauge how the DGCR community feels about buying/throwing discs with a woman's signature on it i.e. Juliana Korver Aviar or Val Jenkins Starfire.

I'd much prefer to throw a disc with a signature female champions name on it vs. pink discs, any day.

I throw Terns. If Val's name was on the Tern, I would throw it. I do not throw the Starfire. If Paul McBeth's name was on the Starfire I would not throw it (nor do I throw the Destroyer, Krait, Nova, or Mcpro Aviar). Throw what works. I hope that answers the question.

I throw pink discs, and sparkly discs...sometimes both at the same time. You think I care about a woman's name?

I don't really care but, if given the choice, I would prefer no signature at all.

And yeah, I'll throw pink discs! Got something to say about it!

I almost bought a JK Aviar last month before I saw a Yeti on the rack I liked slightly better. Also, everything else being equal, I choose colors based on what's easiest to see, which includes pink. I just ordered a barely pink Firebird; if they'd sold it in hot pink, I would have gotten that instead.

Depends on the disc. I'd love to have a VJ Destroyer, because maybe she'd tweak it to fit a different slot in my cycle (just an example; I don't throw Destros). But I really only pay attention to names on discs because there's a possible tweak to the mold. And then, I'm not paying attention to the name, but the tweak.

Pink is a great disc color; one of the easiest to find in the shule. Blaze orange would be a good marketing color, also.

I'm man enough to rock a pink shirt or a disc with a woman's signature. p.s.; Pink discs are the easiest to find in leaf litter or brush.

I voted more inclined just because of PP Stalkers. They're better than other Stalkers. Hopefully the Convict is similarly better?

Now that I'm more knowing of the pro players, I'd be very likely to throw a "girl's disc" if it's a player I like. When I was clueless buying my first couple of discs, probably would not have been likely at all.

For me, makes no difference. However, my 12 year old daughter and her love for JK Aviars is a different story. If a disc has a female name on it or is thrown by Val, Bjerkas, Finley or Hokom she has probably asked me for it several hundred times (see her unused stack of Blizzard discs after she watched Finley's ITB as exhibit A).

Many of my discs are pink. I don't have any discs with a girls name on them, but if you will sell me a Des Firebird for a deal I would love to!

No sig models for stock runs in Westside/MVP. So that is like half my bag.

I will be the honest one and say less likely to buy girls signature discs. I.already avoid sig discs in general, but I also notice my perception of the FPO signature discs changes.

Sandstrom record stamped valks led me to think of valks as potential bombers. Now the mold has been left behind in the dust and it has a woman's signature on it. Not gonna lie, it makes me think less of the disc and less of people that throw it. It is a noodle arm alert signal.

I don't care about the name on the disc. I buy by model I use and color I can find

I bought a Val 4x Starfire (and in pink) partially to support Val, and partially to try the Starfire as my overstable utility disc (and it likely would replace the Banshee in my bag). Jury is still out of whether that disc will be the one.

Also bought several Star SLs that were Val Commemorative discs, mostly because it was a rare chance to get OOP Star SLs.

I bought two Hannah Leatherman Star Terns, partially to support Hannah, partially to throw them(!).

So I'm not averse to purchasing a disc with a girl's name on it.

As to pink discs... see me in October (Throw Pink month)... :)

I wish I could throw like a FPO girl.

You probably do.

I think I told the story (may have been deleted) that I was playing on my home course, and saw a group of about 8 women playing the 9th hole as I teed off on the 2nd hole. They teed off from the forward tees; I always tee off from the back tees. Their throws were not as far as my drive from the back tee on #9 normally is, and it's a open shot so I think they were using drivers.

I caught up to them on the 15th hole, and they let me play through. I asked if this was a tournament, and one of them said it was a 'bag tag' event. Right about this time there was a video of a woman throwing an ace at East Roswell DG course, so it may have been some of the same pro girls.

The 15th is an uphill shot, well over 200 yds, so I did what I normally do from the back tees: threw a smooth TL up to the basket, parked it, threw my birdie shot and went on.

I was very surprised that these pro ladies were not throwing from the back tees, and their shots weren't going any farther than noodle-arm me (even on open, longer holes).

My point to this is that most women don't throw as far as men, and even pro women don't throw as far as average-to-pro men. That's just a physiological fact of life, not trying to put down women in any way.

Now if you ask me if I want to throw as smoothly and with as good form as Valarie Doss does? Yes, I aspire to do that...

You threw over 600', uphill, with a fairway driver? Of course they couldn't do that!

Or did you mean feet instead of yards?
