Lost Disc Mega Thread: Post your lost disc questions and stories here.

At my home course there's a rift in the space/time continuum, just past the 17th basket to the right. There are some trees and underbrush, but nothing too thick that you can't search through in about 5 minutes. But when discs enter, they vanish. I've lost discs all over the course, and someone always texts. Except in this little spot. I've searched and searched with no luck. Lost at least 5 discs in there.

Lost my s-line dd. Bad disc choice led to it going way deep in some junk. Hopefully somebody calls on it. I don't have another truly os driver.

Semi-related but not sure where else to post this and starting a new thread seems over the top, just looking for quick advice

Planning to donate one of my discs to a guy who is just starting out

The disc has my name on it and my first impression was to just cross my name out and let him write in his own name if he chooses to

Could this potentially put him in a bad position? Like maybe someone would think he found the disc, crossed the name out, and wrote in his own name instead of contacting the original owner (me)?

Surely this has happened before, so what's the standard play when donating a disc with your name on it?

that's not unusual... people buy used discs with names on them... just cross out your name and don't worry about it

I buy used discs at PIAS, and 10 seconds with acetone on a rag gets rid of 90% of permanent marker, and then I just write my info over the ghost of the original writing.

I bought a Champion Valkyrie for my son, and then I dyed a House Arryn crest on it. It took me a while, as it was my first dye job, but it looked pretty good. And then he hooked it into the most unreachable spot on one of our local courses, a blackberry bush-filled vision of hell. I bet I lost half a pint of blood trying to find that disc, to no avail.

So this is what happens when 2 feet of snow melts a couple days after the Ice Bowl.........18 discs is a new record !!

Friend didn't lose his disc. He lost it phone on the course. Who loses a iphone in leaves then searches for 4 hours trying to find it? Disc golfers...... THATS WHO. Most expensive loss to date while discing.

Ummm... did anyone try calling the number? That usually helps when searching for a phone.

I lost one up a tree last week. I rarely leave one, but this was 40' up and wedged in pretty good. I threw stuff at it for 30 minutes or so, and then came back 90 minutes later: still stuck. At least one group came by, including a guy who had returned a disc to me a few months ago. (Thanks K)

Two days later, I go back thinking that the wind might have knocked it down. Sure enough, it's not in the tree but not on the ground either :(. I give it up for a lost cause, but a few holes later I meet the same guy. "I've got your disc! I'm glad I found it and not someone else." In short, it pays to be nice to people and make friends on the course. I had given the guy a super flat-topped, beefy Z Flick after he returned my disc the time before, and now I could give him another. Thanks again, K.

Put a couple in water recently, after going a long stretch of never leaving a soldier behind. :( So if anyone finds my inked 'go to' discs, and helps them find their way home, a reward will be offered!

Westside Stag in dark orange went into the hole 22 pond at the 2/25/17 Ice Bowl at Lincoln Ridge, and my Innova Tern (white star plastic with pink speckled dye) decided to roll sharply into the creek on hole 3 Idlewild this past Sunday. We poked, fished and dredged the shallow, murky water for 20 minutes & turned up nothing...

I lost a purple Ace Race Heat on hole 18 of Alum Creek a few days ago. It had the name Dempsey on the back. I ricocheted off a tree and went left somewhere. It was getting dark so I couldn't really find it, even with the dog. Now I shall post about finding a replacement...

Lost KC aviar - Squirrel Lake Park

Just started playing again after many years away and played first round back at Squirrel Lake. Somewhere between hole 8 and 11, I left a KC Aviar (11 time stamp) on the course. This was a long time favorite disc and one I'll give a reward to get back. You'll be my hero if you can help!!

MF gator lost

Lost my orange Metal Flake gator tonight at mayhew creek park in St. Cloud MN. It fell out of my bag somewhere between 10 basket and 12 tee. I think it fell out in the tall grass to the left of the tee pad on 11. Went back and searched the area but had to get going to pick up the kiddo. Name and number on it so hopefully someone finds it and does the right thing. Fingers crossed.

Do all discs go to heaven?

Well, there's "and forgive us our trespasses", which might help for some...

...so for many convicts and felons, there always a little hope.

I lost a Star Teebird last Friday on the 9th at Giles Run into the wind. It flipped up and began turning into dense woods/thorns and just...kept...going...deep into a thorny forest. I searched, scratched and scraped my way, but had to give up. There's a terrific club spirit to find and return lost discs there, and it may one day wind up in the found disc box.

Thanks! You gave me hope for the many discs I'll undoubtedly lose on my journey. We'll be reunited one day.

Anybody else keep losing the same brand over and over? So far I've lost 3 MVP and an axiom. Is this just a sign to not throw them? Not that they're bad disc but it seems there is some bad juju between me and the gyro.
