The pines in the mid-fairway position are the main obstacle forcing line shaping on this hole. Clearly, if you have the distance, and can shape a shot left to right, the bigger opening is over there. Just avoid getting into the shrubbery left, as it pinches toward the basket for the finish. There is a lane right of the pines, but it does require more precision off the tee. This is another job for my Underworld (rhbh, on a firm long anny line)! If there's a group behind you, clear off by going forward after the basket, through the gap, and to the drive on your left. If you're not crowded, coming back up the fairway will get you to the shelter at the corner of the parking lot.

Tighter and just slightly shorter than 16, this hole runs dead straight, so grab a disc that has the potential to get as far down there in a straight line as you can. For me, that's a Buzzz if I'm feeling saucy, or a River if I'm feeling weak. Make sure you and your card-mates keep an eye on the (likely) tree kicks!

This tight but fair wooded lane shot finishes just slightly to the left of the fairway you see from the tee, and the rough is relatively forgiving in terms of finding an errant tree kick. Personally, I choose a fairway (River) or driver (Tern) that can glide the length, and have at it.

Yep, this is the toughest hole on the course. Smaller arms (like me) have to choose a tee shot that will get them through the gap and into the open beyond, but bigger arms can fire up and over the tree line about 30 degrees to the right, where a large tree came down in 2013. Once you DO get to the open, you want to be as far to the right as possible to fade your second shot in through the next set of trees for a good look at a 3. if you've gotten yourself to the left, there is a curved line around the other way, as well. Obviously, staying in the open is the goal, and don't be frustrated too much with a four on here. That's probably about average.

To get around the pine tree to the pin, most rhbh throwers fire off a driver here to the right, and over the OB road. Just choose a disc that will fade enough (depending on the wind) to come back in bounds, even if it has to skip to do it. Of course, always be aware of vehicular & pedestrian traffic!

The first of a stretch of more challenging holes, this tee shot requires elevation and carry due to the growing tree (center gap, right, and at the creek). If you keep it low in the gap, the precision and power needed to approach the pin is enormous. Most rhbh folks attempt a power turnover tee shot with the driver of their choice. The OB road to the right, and the OB fence long usually aren't nearly as much of a concern as being sure you get past the woods.

Because of the little rise halfway to the basket, this is effectively a blind shot, even though the basket is perched atop a pyramid of landscape timbers. It sits just to the right of the evergreen branches you can see off the tee. Though it's only 220', it plays in the 260' range because of the elevation. Personally, this moves it up from a firm Buzzz to a gentler TeeBird shot (rhbh).

Most rhbh throwers aim toward the tree on the right side of the fairway here, to allow their drive to fade in to the basket (decelerating just before it brushes the leaves). For my weaker arm, this is a job for my star Tern, but choose a disc that works for you at this distance (remembering that the basket is slightly downhill. Obviously, the plan is to keep it out of the shrubs.

With plenty of open space to run at this basket, most folks grab the disc in their bag that works at the prescribed distance, and let it fade right to left and in. You need to judge the wind so that you don't fade too hard left, and skip on the hill, as that evergreen is pin high, and will block your long putt from downslope.

Shooting out through the tunnel here, your main goal is to get out into the open for an upshot, and to the slope in front of the basket (or better) for a good putt. The most pure shot will be with something that can come out of the center of the gap with a little velocity, and flipping a little to the right. For me, that's an Underworld shot, flat and firm (rhbh).
