Old Farts Only 40+ (no kids allowed)

Some people seem to need music everywhere they go. It keeps the idiotic thoughts in their head from spilling out and bothering normal people.

Breaking a bad habit: Letting go of the disc while driving

I think the prevalence of the power grip is why newer players play with such overstable discs. It takes a few degrees of hyzer OFF the disc which makes it easier to flip something all the way over.

Breaking a bad habit: Letting go of the disc while driving

Goose is EXPLOSIVE. I'm sure he has a REALLY firm grip. His snap is so LOUD. Being able to "snap" at all is just a reflection of your hand shape. It's just like a regular finger snap that makes the noise. I can make the sound with an empty hand just by quickly pulling my middle finger to the...

    Course management advice

I give away at least 2 a month. That way I don't feel "guilty" for buying new crap. I'm getting ready for an MA50 A-tier in Auburn, CA tmrw and just now realized I can't find my go-to roller. It is...(was) an original amoeba-stamped Stingray and it's gonna be HARD to replace. Unfortunately, it...

Yep, if you lose a disc, maybe it wasn't the right disc anyway. I throw the IT, but I've been hyzer-flipping for 40 years. Try the Hawkeye. It's remarkably stable for a 7-speed. I just bought 5 of each to give away to new players or people that ask questions when I'm doing field work at the...

Breaking a bad habit: Letting go of the disc while driving

What grip are you using? If you are power-gripping the disc, that is probably a big part of your problem. I haven't ever used that grip and I still throw over 330 regularly at 61 years old. Try a pinch/modified fan grip. I only use 3 fingers and I don't jam the disc into my palm. This also...

    Course management advice

I changed my whole way of approaching tournaments this past Fall and it changed my results...a LOT. I'm 61 and an OG, but distance is getting harder to come by every year. I play for PAR and let the birdies "happen" on the easier holes. If you can't put a tee shot within C1 on a particular hole...

I'm your age but with a tad more power. If you want to throw flatter, try standing up straighter. Also, try discs 5-10 grams lighter. That lighter weight should increase your arm speed and get the flippy discs to actually flip. I recently found the Gateway Spear(9/6/-2/1) gives me the turn I...

I do 90 % of my throwing at a local park that's maybe 3 acres and has 3 baskets. Mature trees around the edge with a walkway make it interesting. I'm good at missing the people, mostly, but not so much with the trees. I play practice rounds the week before a tournament, but not much more. Seems...
