    Brodie Smith PDGA #128378

I remember back in the early 2000's when people were cranky about Tiger Woods getting the vast majority of airtime and attention on the PGA. I reminded them then, and it seems appropriate now with Brodie, that 1) he doesn't control what gets aired, and 2) the businesses that air things are doing...

DGPT Live Coverage Will Be Paywalled

I don't think that a business model has to be all one or all the other. While some services (i.e. Netflix, Amazon, etc.) get their revenue directly from their subscribers and some streaming services (i.e. Roku TV) just play ads, other media sources use both. If you want to watch something on...

Post a cool disc golf photo

No clue as to why this is sideways.

DGPT Live Coverage Will Be Paywalled

That's fair. I wasn't thinking about over the air channels. The "cost for providing a product" bit was more for the thread in general, not you specifically. My bad, should've separated it.

DGPT Live Coverage Will Be Paywalled

PGA events are NOT free. Spectators pay sometimes exorbitant prices for tickets. Ad space is highly sought after and is seen in commercials and random places on the course. And you're paying for it when you watch it on cable. Just not directly. Everyone who watches is paying. Disc golf on TV...

DGPT Live Coverage Will Be Paywalled

I agree that $5 is not a lot of money. But it DOES add to the ever growing cost of streaming. I cut cable which was costing me $1680/year (included internet). I now pay $1240 for streaming services and internet. The best part about it (besides saving money) is that I get the exact content I...

Where Are You Going in 2020?

I'm not too far from Memphis and this has been one of the wettest winters ever. Most of the weather we get, Memphis gets too. However, Friday and Saturday show to be sunny so hopefully it will allow for a round or two. But either way, the ground will be soaked.

Lost Disc Mega Thread: Post your lost disc questions and stories here.

So I played this course again yesterday. Chunked another disc in the freakin water. This hole is 100% in my head at this point. However, this time I didn't lose my mind along with the disc, threw again and did so-so on it. So maybe that's an improvement. :wall:

I'm all for emotion. As long as it's not a distraction to others. One of the things I really like about watching disc golf is that the players seem to really like each other and are happy for one another when they do well. You don't see that sort of interaction a lot of that in other sports.

Lost Disc Mega Thread: Post your lost disc questions and stories here.

I learned a valuable noob lesson recently. I was playing a 300' hole that had a row of cedar trees to the right and water after that. The water was probably 25' away and ran all the way down the length of the hole. So I tee off and my drive goes about halfway and cuts right into the trees. The...

Building a 9 hole disc golf course!

I've never built a disc golf course but I've looked into similar things. So, I'll let others go into more detail about the golf part but you might want to post the shape of the lot. No 6 acre lot is the same. Just a thought.
