The number of disc golf player has declined, by a large number.....

According to the new 2024 UDisc Disc Golf Growth Report, the number of rounds recorded on UDisc increased dramatically from 2019 to 2021, increased by <1% from 2021 to 2022, but increased by about 13% from 2022 to 2023. An interesting feature of the Report is the interactive globe at the end...

    Wrist flexibility and snap

I was thinking more of wrist extension flexibility rather than wrist flexion flexibility. With poor wrist extension flexibility, it's like your follow-through gets stopped short.

    Wrist flexibility and snap

Is having a more flexible wrist better for getting more snap (and thus more distance and spin)? The whip analogy suggests it should be. I consider my wrist pretty inflexible - ie, when I whip my wrist, my hand only opens up to between 1 and 2 o'clock. Trying to decide if that is something worth...

How much can we know about our throw using only TechDisc?

Re "pouring the coffee" vs "turn the key" - I tried both and found that "turn the key" (or a mix of "pour the coffee" and "turn the key") was best for giving me nose down numbers. Those two cues tip the disc in somewhat different directions, which leads me to believe that what you need to do to...

How much can we know about our throw using only TechDisc?

I see TechDisc as useful for the following purposes: * A reasonable substitute for field work if you don't have the time for a regular field work session, you don't have a convenient location for a field work session, or the weather is not good for throwing outside. Field work is still very...

How much can we know about our throw using only TechDisc?

True. To get to the Help page (which has lots of useful link info, like the metrics info), you need to first go to the Shop page.

Bottom of palm disc alignment: middle vs ball of palm

"what is the impact of changing where the disc rests at the bottom of the palm, in the center gulley vs closer to the pinky side of the palm?" I've tried both using TechDisc and have not found much difference in any stat. Maybe a little more spin when it is in the groove and less wobble when it...

Bottom of palm disc alignment: middle vs ball of palm

Eagle threw a TechDisc at USDGC 2023: 75mph, 1489 spin, wobble 4.09. Only one throw but I think his wobble score was toward the low end for the pros. Throw Explorer

I have a Tech Disc for 5 days

I think, in real life, your best numbers for the backhand would easily translate to over 300'. Maybe close to 350'. (The TechDisc simulator is notorious for giving lower than real life numbers for most people.) While I think "best" numbers are important to show the top end of what you can...

How much can we know about our throw using only TechDisc?

The increased speed with a lighter disc is consistent with everything I have heard/read (although never heard/read exact mph numbers). I agree the plastic on the TechDisc is unusually slippery. Since we don't care about the actual flight, it might make sense to rough it up a little with sandpaper.

How much can we know about our throw using only TechDisc?

TechDisc has a Metrics page, which explains what the metrics mean and what you should aspire to. See TechDisc Metrics Re speed - According to the simulator, speed is king for adding distance. At 56mph with a distance driver, each additional mph adds about 10 feet of distance. So to go from 400...

Mapping Out Woods for Tee Signs

I've had no success with Google Earth (including Google Earth Pro) with our densely wooded course. All you see is the tops of trees in summer views and a much of trunks and shadows in winter views. Can't see the shape of the holes at all. I have no doubt it works fine, however, on a course with...

Mapping Out Woods for Tee Signs

Idk about gps in a heavily wooded course. Dense trees throw it off. In my experience, often by 30' or more.

Cheapest tee signs until nice ones

Do the graphics yourself (I use Inkscape, which is free), print on paper, laminate them yourself (a laminating machine only costs $30), and staple to 1" x 2" x 60" wooden fence stakes (less than $3.50 per stake). (The tree images in the graphic are individually moveable. Our course is heavily...
