So I've been playing for years, but recently I've picked it up and play nearly every day. It feels like there is a fire inside my shoulder and my arm feels dead. Will throwing BH help this or do I need to stop playing so much?

Mid range forehands are often the easiest throws to pick up. As you develop your game you will start understanding different discs, stability, and speed. The best way to learn is to keep playing.
Yeah, you're probably right. Any hole that is 250+ and a right to left turn, I always try to hold the line on a forehand rather than playing a backhand.
