Moving south for the winter. Where to go?

Huntsville is nice. Decent music scene, and if you're a player, it's more welcoming than most areas. Nashville is about two hours north, and Birmingham is about an hour south. Lots of courses between the three.

    Johne McCray throwing trilogy!!!!

To quote one of my racing buddies, "I'd race the Barbie Pink Kotex-sponsored Vespa if it was a paid full-time ride." Travelling and being on tour is a lot more expensive than most people think, especially when you aren't crashing on friends' couches. Good for him. Sponsorship can be a big deal...

Best cold weather sports gloves for disc golfing in the cold months?

Keep your core warmer. If your core gets cold, the body sends most of the blood there to keep vital organs warm, and less flows to the hands/feet causing them to get colder.

    Holy ****! NO!!! Thanks!!!!

    DG for the visually impaired.

I've been working with a lot of visually impaired athletes lately, in a number of sports/disciplines. Running, bowling, goal ball, and general fitness training. I'd like to find a way to introduce disc golf in some capacity. I have some friends who do 'blind golf' with some of the folks...

    I need a turnover mid

I've had good luck with an R-Pro Skeeter.

So, how did you play today?

Something clicked today. Been back at it since June after a 20+ year hiatus. It's been a struggle trying to get any distance, for example there's a 218 foot hole at my closest course that's been tough to get close enough to birdie. All of a sudden today, out of nowhere, speed 9 discs that had...

[Question] Which Teebirds should I keep in my bag?

The yellow ones fly better. :D

    [Putters] Flippiest disc ever?

And now the dog rolls over on command! :hfive:

    [Putters] Flippiest disc ever?

Definitely an Optimizer. My eight year old granddaughter can get it to turn over, and she can only throw about 30 feet...

[Recommend] What single disc for total noobs (planning company outing).

Aero. Anyone can get them to go where they would expect them to go. Dead straight, lots of glide.

    3 Minute Search Rule

So if I play by myself I'll stop losing discs? :D

How the game has really changed the past 5 years

Actually they're basses. A '63 Gibson EB3 that's been my main gigging bass for about ten years, and a '72 Ric 4001 that had the same duties for about 20 years. I've been eyeing the Tesla and Einstein stamped discs myself, but haven't pulled the trigger because I probably wouldn't throw them...

Critters on the course you ran into...

Walked up on a fairly large red-tailed hawk munching on a squirrel by the tee of 13 at Two Rivers in Nashville last week. It picked up the squirrel and flew into a tree and watched us play the rest of the round while it finished it's snack.

How the game has really changed the past 5 years

Having a disc that's "too nice to throw" is kind of like having a guitar that's too nice to play. They stop being what they were intended to be. FWIW, I recently found some "new" 20+ year old discs in a box in the basement and have been throwing the heck out of them. An old Panther and a '93...
