For me it’s almost always the same thing. Timing. Specifically swinging too early and before my weight has properly shifted. It’s caused by strong arming I think.
I’ve been working on the sw22 drill Elephant Walk. That one really gets me in the right cadence and swinging through on my front...
Subscribing to this thread. I've been living it for 20 years. I think this is the biggest problem in my form. I've been lurking and field working to correct, but progress is slow. Without a good forward extension the best I can do at age 46 is about 260 feet of power with a mid and 300-310 with...
My first tournament round at DeLaveaga was with Dr. Stancil Johnson, PDGA #9. It was a real treat to play with him and hear a little DG history from him. He is the master of the sidearm roller. I think in those days it was a Jaguar that he primarily used for that shot.
I was taught a similar practice routine, and it's how I prefer to practice putting. I take a stack of minis and walk five steps out from the basket, about 15 feet. Place a mini there and then another one each step outward about three feet part. You'll have minis at about 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, etc...
From this distance, I step through on release. Not a jump putt, but stepping forward of my lie. Beyond about 60, I'll add a little jump to get it there.
My favorite putting practice routine:
Take two of the same putters. Start at 15-18 feet or so. If you make both, take one step back. If you miss one, take one step forward. Each step back or forward would be about 3 feet in distance.
What is great about this routine is that you spend most...
I highly recommend a couple of threads from the Technique and Strategy section of the forums. First, the new sticky from OP slowplastic http://www.dgcoursereview.com/forums/showthread.php?t=117477
Second, this link leads to multiple form threads, including one that address strong arming...
The 3rd time I ever played DG, I played in a tournament. My buddy said, come on out, play the rec division, you'll have fun and beat at least somebody.
It was great advice. I've been playing for 20 years since that.
Go for it, play your game and don't worry much about where others stack up.

This one is a beaut. 9/10 with light storage wear. Possibly field tested. What is it worth? And would you use ebay or dollar disc auctions on FB to sell it?
169 grams as inked on the disc. Scales at 170
I'm looking for advice on how to help my buddy learn the game from the ground up. He's been out a few times with me and has some natural aptitude. Now he's wanting to do field work and I want to make sure he's practicing the right things.
I have been reading the various posts on backhand...
I was at a water park in Kansas City in 1984 and there was a DG course in the park between the slides. I watched what they were doing and thought it looked like fun and then went home and set up an object course on our farm. I was 14. Still have the hand-written notes of where the tees and...
I was doing this on a few shots last night while throwing in a field. I noticed that I maintained a good athletic posture with knees bent on my good throws. I stood up completely straight and lost any leg brace on the grounders.
