I started playing Ultimate Frisbee about 4 months ago. Before that my FH was terrible. When I started playing Ultimate my FH was still terrible, but I practiced a lot and focused on the wrist snap. I found it to be a lot easier to learn the snap with a Ultimate disc. Grab a friend and start...
I've got small hands aswell, and I really like my McPro Aviars. If you want a more rubbery feel, you might want to check out the DX Glow Aviar. I've tried it a few times, and it might be what you are looking for. It's not as stiff as the McPro, and it breaks in faster.
How much would you say these two are worth?
It's a First Run Star Destroyer, 175 grams with quite a lot of signatures. It's never been thrown.
The other one is a 174(marked as 173) grams Original Stiff Big Bead DX Aviar from 1994. It's never been thrown, but there is some minor marks from storage.
If I've understod this correctly: the Magnus effect is caused by the friction between the air and the disc. This causes a force which is 90* (I don't know how to make the degrees-thing..) to the spin-axis. On a RHBH throw the disc is spinning clock-wise, causing the force to be to the right, if...
Another vote for the Envy. A new proton for windy days and a beat to straight neutron for no wind.
If I'm not going to use a putter it would have been the Roc3. Maybe a McPro as it's stiff and it would make the putting a lot easier!
I'm using the McPro Aviar as my putter right now, and I really like it. However, it tends to get a bit slippery when it's raining. A friend of mine is using a Glow Aviar for putting, and to me it seems like it's the same mold, just different plastic. Is this correct? If so, I'm considering to...
Transfering power only occurs in the grip. About the technique, it's about generating enough kinetic energy to the disc, in order to make it fly faster at the point of release. People throwing bombs all over the place, are simply able to move the disc in a straight line, at a greater speed than...
If you want to work on your form, try this:
Find a putter that you can drive with. I use the Envy from Axiom. It's a really shallow putter, and it feels more like a mid. But there's a lot of options. Ask around! Try to find one that is quite neutral, as it will be much more affected by flaws in...
So, I'm considering to buy a GStar Destroyer, as I've fallen in love with the plastic. I'm currently not throwing any high-speed drivers, and I'd like to have one for those extra feets when they are needed. I'm considering to buy it in 167-ish, as I'd like to really be able to get it far down...
I'm currently using only TeeBirds as my drivers right now. I can get them to 360'-400' on a good throw. However, I tend to throw them really flat and low, so I might be able to get closer to the 400' than the 360' on a higher throw. You can see my bag in my signature, and the Firebird is there...
