2011 Pro Worlds - Santa Cruz, CA

Stoked for this. Big time. Unfortunately, we'll have to check in with the CSU Monterey Bay for a defined date of demolition of the abandoned barracks around the cypress front 9. Not to mention maybe with this on next years agenda, we can put in REAL teepads at the Oaks course...

    Squall

Squalls have a lot of variation in their stability, frequently their color is a good indicator. Dome is also a good indicator, the domier the more curvy the flight it will try to achieve. They are good discs though and I love DGA's proline plastic.

    minimalism and molds for purposes

5 putters. All Wizards. One used for most putts, a 3 year old medium Wizard which can't hold a hyzer line when shooting 100'+ (I love this thing), 2 firm Wizards covering the stable and overstable slot and my 150g H-Wizard for touch shots/trick shots. Everything I would need out of a putter I...

Identify my missing mystery innova plastic, win a disc.

Could be a Champion Stingray. I remember seeing a bunch of these, as X-outs at the local shop, all opaque champion plastic and the bevel is similar to the top. If you're going to look at DX Stringrays to see if this is it, be aware there are San Marino Stingrays and Ontario Stingrays, the...

    Recommed me a new roller

I like my TL and Inferno for rollers, using the Inferno more for sky rollers. The wider the diameter, the greater the weight focused in the rim and the heavier the disc will mean a better roller. This is assuming uneven terrain. Think about rock crawler trucks, they have giant wheels to get...

DGA Aftershock: A 2009 Worlds Fundraiser Disc

We had a tournament last weekend and DGA gave everyone one of these in pro-line plastic in the players package. During the CTP contest I hit chains twice in my first 7 throws on knife hyzers. I also picked up two sparkle Aftershocks. I was impressed! They also had a distance competition with...

    Attention Gateway Disc Thrower's

The few I have thrown are as follows: Wizard = pre-JK Pro Big Bead Aviar Spirit = Flick with more high speed stability. Demon = Drone Speed Demon = A sewer lid. Literally, those big 100 lb. round metal manhole covers. Fun disc. And the only Diablo DT I have thrown was the proto and it flew...

Review by Weebl in course Old Sawmill

3.50 star(s) Epic course Very challenging and has some very memorable holes. Almost guaranteed to be the only ones playing. Beautiful scenery. You need a guide, who not only knows the tees/pins but those occasional spots where you do NOT want to go. Can be very discouraging for first few times unless very...

How does air temperature affect disc stability?

So I leave for a few months and come back to martyrdom? oh boy... My last word on this topic is that it doesn't matter all that much as long as the difference or lack of it is consistent for you. Ultimately, my discs here at sealevel will never fly like they would at 3000m elevation, but i...

How does air temperature affect disc stability?

I know for a fact the distance record set by Christian Sandstrom was at El Mirage, a dry lake bed in the high deserts of California. If one is aiming for least amount of air density while still allowing the capability of thermal updrafts then this is the place to go, at least in the US. 2,800'...

    Rolling slow vs. fast discs

Older Innova large diameter discs like Jaguar, Condor, Lynx are great rollers as a normal root/rock/bump that would rock a TL roller's world would do much less to a roller if at all. Of course it depends on what you hit as a car will flatten it either way. I like rolling TLs personally, I used...
