Simple, yet one of my favorite
Pros: This has become of my favorite courses to play in the Portland area. The crowds are usually very manageable. This course provides good undulation, a variety of obstacles, varying shot requirements, "water" hazards (in the winter)
Cons: Tall grass. In the summer, it can be tough to find your disc if you don't watch it carefully...

Pros: - Course is set in a decent sized city park that plays mostly in a field with trees/shrubs, but also has some wooded holes on the back end. There aren't any other activities going on here, so there should be no interference with the DG.
- A couple holes make very good use of some larger vegetation to force line shaping. #2's basket is behind/next to some very large pine trees that guard it very well, #3 has a huge patch of nasty rough right behind the basket, and #8 has a tight gap to go through (or over). #9 is a blind, sharp right curving shot up a hill and around a large bush.
- Wooded holes, #10 and #11, force a straight line through some gaps, a lot different from the rest of the course. #10 is especially tight close to the teepad, with some additional trees by the pin.
- Decent elevation changes here to make things interesting. #2 is a long, gentle valley, #3 is a short downhill shot, and #7 is a long downhill valley shot. #6 is slightly uphill, and #9 is a significant upslope on top of the blind RHFH line.
- Even mix of hole lengths, there are some ace runs and three bombers over 375'. Nice to be able to switch between drivers and approach discs on different holes.
- Nice concrete pads, and good baskets. Signs are more or less gone, but the map in front is all you need. Navigation is simple.

Cons: - A lot of open shots, that don't require much thought. #4, #5, and #6 are all free and clear except for some rough on the right side of the fairway. #1 and #12 have a few trees here and there, but it's easy to avoid.

Other Thoughts: - Course is not too shabby; lots of good spots to let some drives rip, a few holes that require good accuracy, and some uphill and downhill shots. While there's nothing super exciting, it provides enough enjoyment. Advanced players will be able to cruise through without any trouble, better suited to beginner/intermediate players.

Other Thoughts: This course is the newer of the two courses in Newberg. It is set in a park with a dog walking area, skate park, bmx course, and remote controlled car course. Every time I've played this course it has been just me and a few other people so crowds are not a issue. Make sure you play with someone else so you can have a spotter. Watch where you walk when trying to find discs as well. I ran into multiple wasps nests and one huge bee hive while playing this course over the summer.

Pros: Looks to use hills well. Uphill, downhill, sidehill shots.
Cons: Grass was getting tall. Tee boxes marked but no signage to direct you on which way to throw or where the next tee is. Got lost and ended up calling the round short. If they had/made better signage I'd be willing to try it again sometime.
Other Thoughts: NEEDS BETTER SIGNS TO DIRECT YOU AROUND COURSE OR HIRE A GUIDE!

Not bad, but not great
Pros: This course uses elevation change, a small wooded area, and a couple longer holes to use the parks potential well, but it could definitely be improved. Very fun to play with buddies, has a couple holes that offer a challenge for intermediate players.
Cons: Nothing really exciting. Very tall grass in some areas, blackberry bushes are encroaching on several fairways, and a couple of the holes become boring, such as holes 4/5.
Other Thoughts: Fun trip with buddies, especially with Herbert hoover nearby, but it's not worth making to long of a trip for. I play it often, but only because it is close to Herbert hoover so I can play 2 parks in one trip, and it isn't to far away. Overall? It's okay.

Pros:
Ewing Young was the second course installed in the quaint city of Newberg, Oregon and just miles away from Herbert Hoover Park. Although both courses incorporate plenty of elevation, they are complete opposites when it comes to design and location which makes them compliment one another.
This moderately hilly and lightly wooded 12 hole course utilizes the landscape with multiple pin placements allowing players to face hyzer/anhyzers as well as straight on approaches directly off the tee. Most of the holes are open with the exception of holes #10 and #11 and range anywhere from 195-429 ft. making the course length anywhere from 3,414-3,771 ft. depending on pin locations. The course is well maintained for the most part, with large cement tee pads, Mach II baskets, benches, and a large kiosk/map near the entrance. The course is much more remote then HH Park which means that it is less frequented and therefore easier to play without many interruptions.
Best Hole/s: #2 and #7

New tee signs would be a nice addition to the course considering the ones they have now are old laminated pieces of paper that are barely hanging on and have become faded over time. Hopefully through some weeklies or local tournaments the club can raise some funds to eventually get those installed. The ones they have currently work, but in the northwest they won't last long!

Excellent use of woods and fields 
Pros:
- Lots of elevation change.
- Great mixture of woods and open field shots.
- Baskets and tees are in excellent condition and well maintained.
- Good variety of short and long holes (up to 400')
- Good course for testing all aspects of your game.

Cons:
- When the course isn't mowed, it will take you a long time to find your discs becuase the grass gets really high.
- The map can be hard to read sometimes, especially for first timers.
- Some of the holes have 3 alternate locations and be blind, so it can be frusturating not know where you're throwing until you actually get to the basket.

First course I ever played Pros: Well marked pins and tees. Varied terrain, wooded, field.
Cons: Grass was really long.
Other Thoughts: I would play this course again. Dog friendly. Make sure to go check out the skate park while you are there. Even if you don't skate, the skaters there are generally really good and fun to watch.

Mixed feelings
Pros: Good tees and pins. Fair amount of variety and challenge from hole to hole. throwing up hills, down hills, and across gullies, short and long holes, some trees to avoid, and some trees to thread.
Cons: Several holes can be disc eaters (#4, #5, & #8). The first time I played there was grass up to my knees so w/o pathes or a good map of the course it was dificult to navigate from hole to hole in a few places. (thanks to some of the locals for showing us visitors around) So I wish it was better maintained and marked.
Other Thoughts: NOT a good place for beginners or first timers. Great place for experienced players to be challenged. And if you play here you may as well check out Herbert Hoover less than a mile away. 2 for the price of 1.

Pros: Ewing young is a great course on a nice piece of unused land (other than the disc golf course) that sits between a skate park and a river behind what looks like someones backyard. The park plays up, down and across rolling hills so there is alot of elevation shots as the designers did a great job with this one. I am glad they put twelve really good holes in here instead of trying to fit eighteen holes which would of sacrificed how good this little course is. Navigation was a breeze after the only other group on the course pointed us to hole two. I was surprised at how well maintained the course was from the stand point of the grass which looks like if unkept it could get very long and unruly. The entire course was in good shape with little to no litter and vandalism except for one bench which serves the purpose of holes three and seven, it was broken and had spray paint on it.
Cons: Someone could say that this course is a little too wide open and doesn't have enough obstacles. The pin placement for a couple of holes were very close to the edge of a small cliff that led to a river so if you ace run or birdie run you have a chance of losing your disc. If thrown off the fairways there is some thick bush and stickers that could eat your disc or if you are wearing shorts could tear your legs up.
Other Thoughts: I believe the hole distances for this course on here are the length of the short position. When I played here they were all in the long position and there were many 400'+ throws involved with this course with many throwing into headwinds or crosswinds which make this course a pretty good challenge. After hole five or six I kept saying that this course needed a few technical wooded holes to round it out and holes ten and eleven delivered in that regard. This is one of my favorite courses with less then eighteen holes and I would gladly come back here to play.
