Pros: 1. Length--longer holes that arent reachable with a good drive. These types of courses develop good course management.
2. Variety of designs--Hole 1 is long and open and then closes to a gap into the woods. A misplaced drive here or approach can easily turn the hole into bogey or double. Hole 16 plays long and out of the woods. You need to be able to throw long and straight just to get to a good landing area to even think about getting par.
3. Practice basket and area. You can always use the unused field area for warmup drives.
4. Tight wooded holes--these types of holes make learning to throw straight a priority. The first course i ever played regularly i could throw big hyzers all the time. This course makes you learn alot of the shots necessary to become good at the game
Other Thoughts: Favorite course in the Grand Rapids area. Hands down

Pros: fun course with a variety of wooded and open holes and short, long, and really long holes. also has a variety of tight and open fairways. the scenery is beautiful. you experience grasslands, shrub lands, pine forests, and hardwood forests. also, it's not too crowded.
Cons: the course isn't marked very well and can be confusing on where to go for the first timer to the course. a couple of the holes are just a pain. especially holes 5 and 16 (i think those are the right numbers). hole 5 is about 600 ft. and uphill the entire way with a very narrow fairway and hole 16 is close to 800 ft. and it starts out kinda narrow.
Other Thoughts: not a forgiving course at all, if bogey isn't in your vocabulary it will be after you play this course. i think it's nice to play a tough course like this from time to time, i just wouldn't want this to be my main course.
i'm one of those guys that just plays every hole on every course as a par 3 (i aint do math good) but this course definitely has some legit par 4's and 5's on it they're just not specified yet.

Pros: 1. Nice, newer baskets
2. Usually not too busy
Cons: 1. Many holes cannot see the basket form the tee
2. Many holes unmarked
3. No hole descriptions
4. No teepads
5. Too much vegitation
Other Thoughts: Well ill admit.... from time to time this course can be fun just because it's so ridiculous. This is a great course to bring friends that have never played before because they might just beat you! Im glad they opened this place, it's a nice park and this will be a nice addition but for now it just needs a little more work.

Try to go with someone who knows the course, after the frist 5 of 6 holes the holes seem to meld together and it's hard to know what path to take.

Also... plan on hitting lots and lots of trees.

Pros: Nice selction of difficult yet fun to play holes. NIce long walk through a variety of environments.
Cons: A few holes just seem kind of needlessely cruel. 16 definetly comes to mind here. You have to make a long distance drive through a narrow gap surrounded by incredibly sharp bushes. After you clear this, which is about 250 ft from the tee, you have 600 more feet of driving to do.
Other Thoughts: Bring good hiking shoes, a few bottles of water and a long sleeve shirt for the thorn bushes and you should have a good time playing here. Whatever you do, do your best not to play at high noon in the summer, that was my mistake today.

Pros: -Lots of nice shot, a good amount of verity from up hill to down hill left to right and everything in the mix.

-Great baskets

-Nice tee pads, and even alts have cement pads at some holes

-people seem to keep up with cleaning it, and making it better!

-Signs are finally in!!! Longs have cement signs with panted distance and and Par, and the shorts had wood burned ones. These are some of the nicest signs I've seen and very unique
Cons: -A few hole have a lot of leaves off to the side.

-lots of kids break stuff here, but is starting to look better.

Other Thoughts: I love this place. Has had a lot of people coming and cleaning it up which makes it a lot easier to play and a lot more enjoyable, THANKS GUYS!!! I would say it's hands down the Hidden Gem of the Greater Grand Rapids area!

Nice Update: Tee Boxes at all holes now. They changed up Hole 14 and added a new one which is fun. This has changed again

People have started bringing bottle caps to hole 13 which is making it look cool and added on hole 5 also.

I have updated this as of 4/26/12 as they have signs and I think that there are really no flaws here. This place for real is the hidden gem of the greater grand rapids area. They are also putting in about 6 more holes sometime soon.

11/13/2013. Tee Signs have been pretty much destroyed so I have lowered this .5 points. Still a great course, but that the only thing that would help.

Pros: Challenging, with a good mixture of woods and open fields. Secluded and scenic. Very pretty in the fall. Each hole has two tees, pro and rec. Good mix of shot required, some open, some tight and technical, some left, others right, plenty of elevation.
Cons: Most holes have a bad mixture of tight unforgiving fairways and extreme length which can be frustrating to newer players. One hole has to be somewhere in the 800 feet range (with a tight fairway and lots of trees). Could use better signage and tees.

Pros: Challenging layout that rewards shotmaking as opposed to raw distance. Accurate distance required to score sub 54 scores. Requires a variety of shots to score well. Very rugged off the fairway - play safe. Good mix of long -par 4 and dueceable holes. Nice mix of heavily wooded and more open holes. Concrete tees now on majority of holes.
Cons: Could be intimidating to novice players
Other Thoughts: This course is significantly opened up since new. Some holes are much easier. Still the best course in the Grand Rapids area hands down!

Pros: Nice course with nature all around you. This is a difficult course that will challenge any player. Course begins and ends out in the open, while the middle surrounds you with trees.
Also very secluded for the most part.
Not too bad of a drive from grand rapids.
Cons: Can be too challenging at times.
Lots of trees
Long holes, Hole 16 must be in the 750-800 ft. range
Lots of trees.
