Pros: 1. It's the only course in the area!
2. Good use of small size, not much you can do for limited size available.
Cons: 1. Rubber Pads are in bad shape.
2. It's small and I can see people getting tired of it fast...I'm average and threw a 25 after two rounds.
3. Some markers also need repair.
Other Thoughts: As small park courses go this is ok, but North Platte could use a real 18 hole course.

Pros: -There is lots to do here, trains, picnics, animals, playgrounds, rides, swimming pool and most of all, disc golf!
-Nice rubbery tees
-Nice Baskets
-Dual basket positions for most holes, unfortunately they seemed to be in the less interesting position when I was there
-Decent signage (see cons)
-Many ace runs here
-Hole 8 is a good challenge with the lake on the right side. It is a tricky basket position as well
-This course flows pretty well, it was always easy to find the next tee.
-Makes for a good quick round which breaks up a long and boring trip along US 83 or I80. Also could be good for introducing a newer player to the game.
Cons: -Not too challenging, mostly open with a few trees here and there
-On the shorter side for a course, most holes are pitch and putt
-Some of the distances on the signs are clearly wrong. I specifically remember 9 where it says 440 or so feet and I overthrew it with a one step approach.
-Very flat
-Might have to watch out for other park users, this is a popular place
-Could lose a disc in the pond/lake so be careful on that hole.
Other Thoughts: This is the only course in town and the only one for miles. It is worth a stop but don't expect a championship course, this is a good but typical city park course. A few reviews and the description mention a small forest and rows of trees but don't let that fool you. Hole 3 has about 7 or 8 trees around but I don't know if that classifies as a small forest. Any low shot will be just fine on that hole. Like DG Tourist said, there is more land around here that could be better used for a more challenging disc golf course or an addition to the current one,

Pros:
+ Great location: awesome outdoor swimming pool in the same park makes a great road trip stop on your way out West
Cons:
- Crowds: watch out for the crowds using the park on weekends and holidays

- Hard to find first tee box
Other Thoughts: Watch out for road construction on the highway leading in.

Pros: I am a fan of the rubber fly18 tee pads that they have here. The fun factor is high because it is short and can be run through really fast. It's a well groomed park course with one hole that plays through a small forest and another hole that plays over a pond. Another hole that plays in a tunnel of trees near the creek and yet another hole that uses an awkward hill. There are only two or three holes for ripping long drives. The rest of the holes make for great practice on getting that elusive ace. I would never drive all the way to North Platte just to play in Cody Park. However if you are looking for a place to sink an ace this might be it.

What sets this park apart from all from the other nine hole central Nebraska courses? Its quick, the lake, the tunnels of trees and the hill. I was able to pick up a handful of locals and they were very helpful and friendly. The park feel like its North Platte's main park with all the amenities that it has, including; amusement rides and a zoo area. As a result the park grooming is top notch. The course is set up in a dedicated part of the park. I would recommend this course for beginners mostly and making ace runs.
Cons: It is a nine hole park course.

I don't like park courses much. A personal bias of mine. I would have used the natural setting to the north and utilize the area near the North Platte River In my opinion it would provide a more interesting round of golf. Perhaps if expansion is ever in the cards it would be something to consider. The course is extremely short and the suggested par, if you pay attention to those things is very generous (laughable).
Other Thoughts: North Platte is always the mid point stop for me when I trip out to Omaha, so I enjoy playing here. It is a break from the boredom that is I-80, driving aimlessly for hours with only the goal of playing the nine holes at Cody Park in mind. The train in the park is at the south end of the course is an attraction for train enthusiasts, the way I understand it.

Pros: 1 shot through big mature trees! 1 shot over a pond, 1 140ft ace hole through middle of trees. Mach 5 baskets, mowed grass, other park attractions and conssesions!
Cons: Rubber tee pad, need multiple pin placements, it's par 38 for rookie
Other Thoughts: There is a huge net to protect the houses across the street from park. This is my home course and it has a total of 4 or 5 ace holes all are challenging!
