Pros: - Pretty simple straight shots, a large majority of the holes can be ACED
- Simple leveled elevation so no challenges there
- Some elevation on hole 7 with the hill off to the right
- Very nice park, great community and not usually crowded by golfers
- Good for beginners to learn on
- Challenging aspects, such as water hazards around holes 3, 6, and 9 and the very long drive for hole 7
- The course is set up around the parameter as to avoid most people except around holes 1 and 2.
- Watch for the road around holes 7-9
- Hole 7 is very difficult, watch out for the baseball diamond and the road. Very tight hole and your going to need your distance, since it is 600ft or so and the rest of the course is average 200-300ft.
- Hole one can be done in under par, very easily an ACE hole too.
- The whole course should be played with the par as 3, but is setup with certain holes having 4 as its par. If any hole should have that par, its 7. Otherwise, the large majority of players should get par or less.
Cons: - No real cons to the course game-play wise, only with course overall

- Some families walk right through the course while your playing, so you will have to pause for them to move.
^^ Watch out for little kids, for they will grab discs and then throw them back to you.
- Local wildlife can be a problem
- Smoking is allowed and people will drink
Other Thoughts: - All and all, a good course and just great for beginners. Beautiful park, not many distractions, the ability to make an ace on some hole is a plus.
- There is no hours for the park, so Neon and Glow golf is a plus here, and good lighting means you can kinda see your discs without much trouble. Bring a flashlight and remember to charge those glow discs

Pros: -open fairways
-real nice well manicured park
-good baskets
-some water in play to make it fun
-pretty decent layout for a little 9 hole park
Cons: -super crowded in the summer, and people tend to hang out in the fairways of holes 1-3 picnicing.
-only 9 holes
Other Thoughts: A great small park, ive had lots of fun here, got a buddy who lives right across from the park so weve been over there tons of times, its got a couple real nice long shots too to get out the guns!!

Pros: Well laid our course that is challenging at times. Fairly short with the exception of hole 7. Great course for the beginner to intermediate player. Watch out for the water, it does come into play at times.
Cons: Only 9 holes,
Other Thoughts: I love the 9th hole

Pros: The coarse features an even terrain, no ups and downs. The tees are cement and seem to be well maintained. The distances are not far except for on hole #7 so for those just learning how to throw the disc, like me, that can't get the distance drives yet, this leaves you feeling good about a well played game.
Cons: Lots of people at times. Especially around the first 3 holes. The water hazard on hole 3 is a nasty channel connecting 2 of the ponds. If you lose a disc in there, its not really worth going after.

 Greenest Course Around

Pros: Good variety of distances. Ace runs on holes 1, 2, 5, 6, and 8. "Two drive approach" needed on hole 7. Only a few tree obstacles. Water obstacles are present, yet avoidable. Long sticks are usually available to retrieve wayward shots, and the baseball fences aren't too high to jump over.

Since the installation of the "kids water playground" on the north side of the park, a "goose cannon" has kept most of the geese away, which means WAY less goose droppings compared to years past.
Cons: People.

WARNING: DO NOT go to Lamar park on a Summer weekend. Chances are people will be using the baskets to anchor pinata strings, or move the picnic table directly into the fairway, or run to your disc after you tee off and try to throw it back. Best to go to Lamar during the work week.

Also, I find it easier to park by the tennis courts and get the walking out of the way early, as a "warm-up." That way after you are done you can leave right away.
Other Thoughts: Shooting par on #7 and #9 are the main challenges here, but can be done. Shooting under par on the entire 9 constitutes a good game.

Pros: Well maintained, wide open course. A couple of holes with water but easy to avoid. An excellent course for beginners yet still fun for experienced players. Only took 50 minutes to play with 3 people, perfect if you're short on time and want to get a round in.
Cons: Only 9 holes. After finishing number 9 you have a long walk back to your car.
Other Thoughts: Would be nice to have a full 18. Seems like plenty of space available in the park.

Pros: This is a well tended, nicely set up course that is great for beginners, practicing parking mid-range shots, or learning to throw rollers. Wide open holes, mininal traffic, and flat terrain keep the frustration level for beginners to a minimum.
Cons: There's lots of goose poop to avoid, and you really don't want to have to retrieve your discs from this pond. Yuck! Errant shots on holes #6 and #7 could (and do) go over the fence into the baseball diamond.
Other Thoughts: We played this before heading out to the more strenuous and demanding Johnson Park and had a blast. What a fun little course.....perfect for a warm-up or a quickie, although the walk back to the parking lot seemed to take forever!

 Everyday Practice

Pros: Everything is laid out very simply. Great for beginners, or experienced players who want to hone mid-range approach shots. Three holes with water. Shorter smaller park that can be played very quickly. Good pads and holes. Well Kept.
Cons: Lots of geese, and bystanders on most days. Very dirty water. Long walk back to the car. Over-driven shots often wind up in the parking lots.
Other Thoughts: Absolutely great course for everyday practice. I go out there on a daily basis and have never had too many problems. The worst is the water, and most times, the disc won't be worth retrieving.

Pros: Nice short course to practice midrange and putt shots.
Concrete tee pads are nice, never really had the problem of where am I shooting.

Cons: Water is nasty, Do not let your disc get in there.
Fence- The Wind grabbed my disc and it barely stayed on my side of the fence so be careful.
Most of the holes are short straight shots that don't offer much challenge.
I'm used to having hole 9 end near the tee of hole 1, this isnt the case. You have to walk pretty far to your car afterwards.
Goose Feces everywhere.
Other Thoughts: Good for short game practice, but only one hole is long enough for good drives. The course goes around a frequently used park so watch out for people and pets. A sign at tee one says disc golfers are responsible for any damage your discs cause.

Pros: - Well marked teepads
- Laid out logically, circles you through the park
- Nicely groomed, always mowed with little trash
- Water hazards on four holes add challenge and reward risk
- Restroom not far from the course
Cons: - It's a popular multi-use park so you occasionally have to avoid picnics, volleyball nets, and a random fisherman or two.
- Baseball fields can quickly come into play on two holes, especially on the long #7
- Wind is usually an issue due to few trees in the area
- Little to no elevation changes
Other Thoughts: I play this course a couple of times each week. It's a nice beginner course that manages to still offer a challenge to more advanced players. Hole #9 is the best hole on the course; it's a dogleg left with a pond on one side and a thick row of trees on the other. This course is a nice alternative if Brewer or Riverside are too busy for your taste.

Updated 5/27/2010:
The tree next to the pond on hole #9 was recently cut down. This takes all the challenge out of the hole and turns it into a relatively easy birdie opportunity. For this reason alone, I'm reducing my rating from a 3 to a 2.5.
