I played this every day for 4 years 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Dec 7, 2021 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Ok guys...this was my daily course for 4 years as I went to Muhlenberg College from '93-'97. This was a very fun course which we played with lids. You cannot throw a disc golf disc around this course. Furthermore, in todays climate, you might upset some college student if your lid happens to hit a tree or some other object which might cause them to crawl into their safe space. I played here in the 90's and always had beer available. Furthermore, my fraternity house was across the street from hole #1 so you can see how easy it was for me to play every day. The were some challenging holes when using a lid but learning how to roll a lid was crucial. It also taught you to play in the wind as the Lehigh Valley can get windy at times. Lots of holes play through the campus and behind the dorms. You end up seeing almost the entire campus during the round. A couple of holes have elevation changes. The drama house hole was the course favorite as you throw by the library down to the front doors of the drama house.

Cons:

Once the President changed to the idiot from NBC the course got a bad rap because he got hit in the noggin with a lid. I mean really, who would walk through the quad without knowing that lids are flying everywhere? It's a college campus, people through lids! The holes changed throughout the years at Muhlenberg and we no longer were allowed to throw at the drama house doors because some girl got whacked as she was walking out, happened in Junior year.

Other Thoughts:

From what I've heard the course is getting pulled. Sad that the kids these days won't be able to blow off steam by playing a simple round of target golf.

Friends don't let friends play Muhlenberg 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 28, 2012 Played the course:once

Pros:

Chance to meet that someone special it is on a college campus if your single.

Very close to actual disc golf courses.

Cons:

Chance to hit pedestrians with discs.
Chance to break windows
Chance to get lost
Chance to get a parking ticket
Chance to get bored while lost
Chance to get sued by people struck with discs and property destroyed.

Bad parking
No bathrooms

Other Thoughts:

If you are asked by someone to come play this course they are not your friend. Do not play this course you will not ever get that time back. You will have more fun throwing your discs into a brick wall. Please read the other reviews the cons are spot on. Play this course with a Lid, and off hours, night is best as no one can see you to point and laugh at you playing Muhlenberg. If you are new to the sport this will only confuse you. The land has potential for a smaller course with actual baskets maybe a 6 hole, that may be stretching it. I hope this course is removed I hate to see anyone hurt by Mr. chucker and his speed 13 groove.

Beatiful Campus 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 16, 2004 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Set on a beautiful campus that is well maintained

Very close to Little Lehigh Parkway and Jordan Creek, which are must play courses if in the area

Muhlenberg has intrammural "Frisbee Golf" as a spring sport, so if you are a student it would be a nice way to meet other players.

Sport Camps for kids during the summer include "frisbee golf" (boys and girls 6-13yo)

Cons:

This is an object course (wooded posts or actual objects if you know the original layout) with natural tees.

Tough to navigate (maps can be located at the campus safety office, lower level of Prosser Hall) and pedestrians are a serious issue.

Many blind shots (dangerous with students if school is in session as well as parked cars and hitting buildings)

Other Thoughts:

This is a course that is mainly played by students with Lids, which is much safer as pedestrians and cars are everywhere if playing while school is in session.

If you do go to Muhlenberg, or enjoy playing with lids, this is a great course to play on. If you play actual Disc Golf you should skip this course and go to the World Class courses nearby. This course should not be played with actual discs are it's very likely you'll hit someone, a car, or a building. This course is fun with friends just wanting to have a good time, especially late at night when people are not walking on campus and the campus is pretty well lit. As this course is not for set just for disc golf, instead being a course put on a college campus, the flow is awkward so do bring a map.

Drop this College Course from your Roster 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 8, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

Nice Campus to walk around. #18 is a fun elevation shift to finish on. If you drove here to play, don't fret, you can go play top notch Little Lehigh Parkway and Jordan Creek which are both just 5 minutes away!

Cons:

Really a waste of time. I don't think anyone actually plays this course. Wooden posts that are used for targets are identical to wooden posts used to mark tees. Good luck figuring this place out. No info anywhere. Very confusing. Holes are all decent length, which is a problem due to blind shots in heavy pedestrian areas. Every hole uses college buildings as obstacles. This may be the worst layout I have ever seen. Tees are natural so they look exactly like the pin markers. So easy to get lost, so easy to pelt someone, so easy to hit buildings, cars, professors, students, alumni, etc This is a mess here. Thank goodness no one plays it. Hole 1 once you find it plays along the side of a stained glass windowed church and ends at the door of the church....no lie. This is almost hilarious. It's like a kid and his frat buddies decided to play a joke and build a course where people will get nailed by discs all the time. Some holes end at pedestrian intersections and on and on....Walk this course and then you may decide to just not bother..thats what I did. There are some open areas on the campus with big trees but none of the holes use these?

Other Thoughts:

Course would be better served if it utilized the Cedar Beach area just across the street....this area has a big lake, elevation, plenty of space with neat trees and landscaping it is far safer and makes more sense. Could be a really cool 9 or 12 holer put in for the students and the public to enjoy.

I object... 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Oct 8, 2007 Played the course:once

Pros:

Nice campus, and of course with college campuses come college chicks, and those win every day. Well maintained.

Cons:

Tough to play properly when classes are in session. Too many obstructions. Object course.

Other Thoughts:

Parking's rough. However, the place is beautiful, and is nice to just lazily throw a disc or two, not to be competitive.
