Pros: unlike some disc golf courses that share the land with a park (picnic tables, walking path, etc.), lorch park is strictly for disc golfers.

great scenery.

unlike many courses, wind has little effect because of all of the trees.

Cons: poison ivy....that is about it

Other Thoughts: i have lived within seven miles of this park since it has been opened and never noticed it. i have only been playing for six months, and i still get angry that i didn't discover disc golf sooner. this is a great location well worth the drive, and cedar hill has many great restaurants. parking lot is not that bad. my car is lowered and i have no problems. i like this course a little more than beaver, because i don't have to worry about losing discs in the pond.

Pros: Very challenging course. Makes you throw low( cause of over hanging trees ) and accurate( again cause of all the trees ). The tree cover is nice on hot Texas days. Nice variety of long and short holes. Never felt like I was throwing the same hole over and over. Fairways are well groomed, no tall grass or weeds to fight with. Most holes had alternate basket placements which would help give the course variety if you played it often.

Cons: Bring a map other wise you will be hunting for the next tee. You have to walk back down the fairway on a few hole to get to the path that leads to the next tee. Some signs indicating where to go from the basket would be very helpful. Some signs at the parking lot telling you where to go for hole one would also be nice. Since there are 2 courses on the land you have to walk through part of Beaver to get to Coyote. Again if I hadn't had a map from this site on my phone I would have been lost. Some tees where covered in a layer of dirt. If I get a chance to play here again I might bring a long a broom to clean off the tees.

Other Thoughts: I enjoyed this course a lot. It really challenged me. I hope to get a chance to play it again. People I met where friendly. Saw one dog with their owner so I guess the park is dog friendly. I would say for the most park the course is cart/stroller friendly as long as you have big wheels.

Pros: Excellent use of the terrian, with a very high level of difficulty when it comes technical shots.

Cons: Not a lot of shot variety. Only really need a putter, mid, and fairway to play the course. I used my putter for the majority of the shots. Great form work, but I never felt like I had a hole that I could really let loose on.

Other Thoughts: This would be a nice course to play back to back with the Beaver course. Make sure that you bring good shoes and long pants. The terrian is rough and rocky and lined with thorny vines and poison ivy.

Pros: What a fun course to play. It's a tight technical course with a couple of bomb,
air-out holes. I love playing the two courses at Lester Lorch, it has a country -wooded feel to it. The course has a nice flow to it, you don't have to do a lot of searching for the next Tee-Box.

Cons: I really can't think of any "cons" for this course.

Other Thoughts: I really like play the Courses at Lester Lorch park. May be one day when I have time I can play both courses back to back. We're lucky to have to great courses right in the middle of the Metroplex.

Pros: Extremely technical for a short course. Distances are very short, but Coyote makes up for the lack of length with quality of hole design. You can throw a well placed drive and clip a mesquite stump and still end up in the briar patches. This course with test your skill and your mental patience. If you can play smart and execute your shots, then you can post a good score. At the Cedar Hill Chill some pros had difficulty navigating Coyote safely. That being said every disc golfer in the DFW area is doing themselves a disservice by not playing here. Great course.

Cons: Some of the toughest rough I know of in the area. Stay in the fairway and don't get eaten up. Not really a con for me, as I like this aspect of the course. More of a suggestion for beginner players.

Other Thoughts: I use to dislike this course when I first played it, but as my game gets better and better this course brings out the best and worse of my game. Something I have come to love about this course. Bring lots of water in the summer and fall. It's a long walk back to the parking lot and it can get quite toasty even in the shade of the thick trees. Go play Cedar Hill!

Pros: Let's step up the game a little bit with this more wooded and challenging course on the same land as Beaver. Trees are a big factor here with a good variety of tunnel shots and a lot of low ceiling shots with some tight lines. Elevation does play a big part throughout most of the course with a lot of up hill shots and down hill shots to make each hole interesting and challenging. There is a nice mixture of short and long shots with some dog leg left's and right shots with a chance for an Ace on a few shorter holes. The concrete tee pad's are in great shape and the course has nice sign's with the the hole information and it directs you to the next tee. There are multiple pin locations and benches and trash cans throughout most of the course and the park is really clean and very well maintained. You can't forget about the big red hole numbers on top of the baskets and on the tee boxes to to make it easier to locate each tee box and basket. The navigation of this course is pretty easy and you should not have any problems.

Cons: The con's are very slim here with not to many to name. The park can get crowded on the weekends, which is normal for a great course.

Other Thoughts: Over all, this is a fun and challenging course and is well worth the drive from anywhere in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. i put it on the Top 10 list of must play courses that you should play.

Pros: Very impressive Dallas course! Most courses in Dallas are in wide open areas, Coyote is the complete opposite. Beautiful scenery in a forrest trek, and an extremely well thought layout. This was my first time playing and it was no trouble at all to get through the entire course. I have paid to play in courses that are similar in design to Coyote, where the trees are used as the path. The course was very clean and signs were clear with little to no graffiti. The shots were very challenging with a variety of different paths needed for the deuce. A mid range disc or even a hard putter is crucial for tee offs at this course. Tree lines work well as the rough area you don't want to be in. Holes are short and sweet and they will really test your accuracy. I cannot say enough about how INCREDIBLE this course is!

Cons: My only complaint about Coyote is that it is mostly short game. I feel that long range holes can be just as technical as the short ones. There are no holes that are much longer than 400ft. If Coyote had a solid 800 footer or a couple of 600s, that would make this course into the perfect disc golf experience. Still this is a very sexy course to play.

Other Thoughts: What I found funny is that people would skip Beaver completely to play Coyote. Two groups I saw played number 7 of Beaver and then went straight to play 1 of Coyote. I think I saw maybe 3 out of 15 people playing Beaver. I want to say that if they had made the two courses originally one MEGA-Course, it would have been an Unstoppable force of human nature. I can only imagine, but i digress. The Two courses are so cool to play in succession, with the exception of number 9 on Beaver. There was something up with the drainage system because it was very muddy and it hadn't been raining lately.

Pros: Course seems to be dedicated to DG. Porta-John in parking lot. Course was clean and maintained well. Another DG park on same grounds.

Concrete tee pads. Tee signs with layouts. Trashcans throughout course. Benches to sit and relax. Multiple pin locations available.

In the most part a heavily wooded course. Elevation throughout course that was used very well, no huge inclines, but lots of nice small to medium sized mounds throughout that the course is laid out on.

Never once did I feel like I was going to lose my disc in the rough, may have been the time of year I played perhaps.

Fun/Wow factor was through the roof! Couldn't wait to get to the next tee and see what was next!!

Cons: Parking lot was tore up and small. Not that big of a deal, but worth noting. Also, long walk to first hole, in and around some holes on Beaver.

Wish there could have been some longer holes available in the woods.

I don't remember where, but navigation was a little tricky once or twice during play, however a map would have cleared that up.

Other Thoughts: I had a blast playing this course. Once you hit hole 2 you can say goodbye to your drivers until you get back out to hole 14. You're going to be using a lot of mid-range and putters. Lots of technical work in the woods. Sometimes you can go for the Ace or Deuce, sometimes you have to really plan your lie, to get an upshot for a par. On a few holes my score was punished by playing pinball with my discs, but I was having too much fun to care.

Interesting thought: If there would be a swap of holes between Beaver and Coyote: 11, 12, and 13 of Beaver fit in better on Coyote, and 1, 14, 15, and 16 of Coyote fit better on Beaver. Not a negative comment, but that would make the courses completely different than each other, however, this just makes you want to play both courses during a visit.

A few holes worth noting: Hole 6 is a great hole that looks like an ace opportunity, but you need to have a nice shot to get over a little low ravine and back up to the pin. Hole 10 didn't look difficult, till I scouted it out. Throwing in an open area, the pin was up the hill to the right, with tree's everywhere. I really had fun with both of those. Hole 18 is made difficult by the super narrow fairway next to the tee box. Not the narrowest I have played, but no less difficult because of the length of the wooded area you throw out of. These are three of the finest holes I have played to date.

Other Thoughts: This is the best course I've played in the DFW area.

Pros: A short (but not too short) technical course.

A few of the holes have been lengthened sense the last time I played out here.

Benches on about every 3rd hole.

LOTS OF SHADE which is great on a hot day like today was.

Cement tee pads on every hole.

Tee signs on every hole.

Good use of what little elevation is in the park.

Cons: Some of the Tee Pads are too short.

Could use some more benches.

Poison Ivy, lots of it.

Briers if you get off the fairway. (I have yet to play here and not draw blood)

Other Thoughts: When ever I play Cedar Hill, I play both courses back to back. (Beaver 1 - 16, Coyote 2-1, Beaver 17-18)

Together with the Beaver course, Cedar hill is the best place to play disc golf in the DFW are by far.

Coyote really makes you throw your line. If you throw in the rough, you are in trouble.
