Pros: The course plays through a small flat park along a river. A few holes bring the water into play on errant shots, adding a little bit of fun risk to those holes. One green has the water in play, so you have to make some decisions on going for long putts. There are some nice mature trees in play on most holes to encourage some different lines, and a road ob also makes a few holes a little tricky. There are two sets of tees that offer longer and shorter looks for different levels of players, and the course is easy to follow.
Cons: The safety issues here are pretty bad. The park road comes into play, though at least there's good visibility to see if cars are in range. Many holes play through or over playgrounds and picnic areas, so if the park was in use at all several of the shots would be unplayable. If players with less etiquette ignore those conflicts and play through anyway, it could lead to serious issues. The layout of the course isn't bad for the space available, but it's a mostly open flat piece of land so it just doesn't have any challenging or exciting shots.
Other Thoughts: Beginners will find some challenges with large trees to avoid and water in play on really errant shots. More experienced players won't be tested, it's short and doesn't call for any real line shaping. I hate seeing courses put in with no thought to how it will interact with other park patrons. It gives us a bad image when inconsiderate discers through into other groups, and can easily result in pulled courses and towns hesitant to put in future courses.

Pros: Well let's see nice discatcher's water come's into play a lot. Good for the beginner's out there.
Cons: you have to throw threw play ground equipment i mean what the hell is up with that. And volleyball next to hole one and a big shelter house by hole four or five i mean if there are people here you can not play like half the hole's just to crowded in this park.
Other Thoughts: it's nice to see a course in such a small town but it just should not be in this park.

Pros: Nice setting, usually not busy at all
Cons: if you can control your discs and throw straight shots, this course isn't much of a challenge
Other Thoughts: This is a very nice course with good variety and mixes of shots. Trees and playground equipment come into play

Decent warm up course.
Pros: Easy. Good beginner course. if you can throw straight youre under par. Not much traffic.
Cons: Boring. Little more than a disc golf driving range. Very repetitive.
Other Thoughts: good for beginners and families. everyone else should drive through to freeport or rockford.

nice water views
Pros: Nice little park with decent yardage and trees to keep you honest. Carroll Creek wraps around the course and provides quite scenic views. Dirt tees rarely played; meaning you have a good little course all to yourself (not all that common these days. Two other courses in area; Old Mill and Millcreek Parks, are also little played and thus; this area offers a wonderful opportunity for a day trip of quiet, relaxing golf in nice settings.)
Signage yardages seemed correct.
Cons: Water not really in play except for quite errant shots. Somewhat short by modern standards. (To be fair; it was quite wet out and we played short tees). Longer tees 3,000, and thus; quite up to modern standards; but, shot requirements not special.
Only nine holes.
Other Thoughts: Therefore; a 2.5; though this is a very pretty park.

Pros: This is a very nice 9 hole course hidden in the back part of a little park. Use of playground equipment and trees make this course a little more challenging than it might look.
Cons: Park does have a river running next to it. So if your off on your throws your disc will end up in the drink.
Other Thoughts: All in all this is a hidden gem of a course in a town the size of Mt. Carroll.
