Go For Bingos at Mingo
Pros: -Very well maintained park
-short fairway grass mowed often
-shelter areas with trash cans nearby most holes
-hole 1 and 9 have a lake in play directly next to the basket placement making for demanding disc accuracy off your drives
-holes 1, 5, and 9 offer very short baskets with elevation changes for ace runs or cubby ace attempts.
-the park offers water hazards, mildly wooded areas and large trees placed in front of baskets and around them, elevation drop and inclines, good all around mix
-traffic flow of pedestrians/non disc golfers stay towards the skate park and walking paths which hardly could ever come into play unless you enjoy shanking your drives left or right.
-Ducks in play on holes 1 and 9 offer extra targets if you miss the basket

Cons: -course can be played at par or below by intermediate/advanced players quite easily
-in downtown nicholasville (if you live in ky this should make sense)
-all drives can be thrown front handed for each hole (for me being a front handed driver this makes the course quite easy for my angles of approach)
-the walk between each hole is a short or reasonable distance, but some tees could be confusing to locate your first time playing.

Other Thoughts: This is one of my favorite 9 hole courses to play simply because it has a little bit of everything, and offers a few attempts for aces on my watch. The park is fairly nice in general, and very nice for the area. Holes 1 and 5 are the signature holes here in my opinion, a must play park if your in the area for laid back "discing"

Ready for a warm up? Practice at best Pros: Real short holes that are virtually straight with zero obstacles. The eight hole is probably the most chanllenging with just a few trees in the way. Real quick coarse

Solid 9 Hole
Pros: Easy Access to a well maintained park. Great practice course for mid-range drives. The markings are up to date and the course changes gears from hole to hole the best it can with the amount of space available.
Cons: 9 hole course gets repetitive. A few extremely short holes and not many alt. pin placements.
Other Thoughts: Great course for those who live in Jessamine County, great to practice on to get ready for the harder Riney B course.

Not The Merciless
Pros:
Concrete tees and tee signs, minimal chance to lose a disc. Near food/petrol options.

Cons:
Mostly flat and open, some holes near walking path (#5 practically on a path!) Bits of trash scattered about. If other park patrons use the abundant open space for alternate purposes, some holes could become quite awkward (impossible?) to play.

Other Thoughts:
Course plays about a practically flat, fairly open (a few clusters of trees) small public park. Over half the holes simply require a straight throw as the initial shot, while the turns required by the other holes are fairly subtle. Probably a good course for glow and/or local safari, and quite suitable for beginners.

Pros: The course plays through a very pretty city park with mature trees and a decent sized pond. The course plays mostly through scattered large trees with some sidewalk and drainage ditch ob areas to add some challenge and punishment for errant drives. The fairways are well-kept and nicely mowed grass with no muddy areas even after a recent rain.
There are lots of fun birdie holes here, and chances for ace runs with good shots. There are a couple holes with a little more distance and challenge mixed in to keep it a little more interesting.
The tee pads and signs here were very nice, and in great shape. Even on short holes there were large concrete pads with some texture that made for great throwing surfaces. The tee signs were easy to read, and made navigation a breeze here, though the flow is good enough that you wouldn't have problems anyway. The baskets looked relatively new and were in great shape.

Cons: The biggest issue here is the crowds of people that have nothing to do with disc golf. There are lots of walking paths, and most holes play near at least one. On a nice day, these paths were full of people, and it was a lot of waiting to be able to throw without the chance of hitting someone. There were also lots of people doing other things on fairways, like picnicking, flying kites etc., and they didn't seem to really get that the disc golf course was there. It made for a long and slightly frustrating round here, and I could see safety issues with less courteous players.
The course seems to be aimed at newer players, and at exposing new people to the sport. It's a great course for those goals, but that means it's not the most challenging course, and doesn't really require very many different shots or line shaping skills to score well. There are a lot of holes that are mostly open with just a couple trees to avoid, and you can just throw an easy hyzer shot on nearly all of them.
This isn't something I count against the course, but it would have been fun if the pond could come into play on the course for a little more challenge and risk/reward.

nice and quaint
Pros: This is a nice little 9 hole course set in a relatively busy park. The course is easy enough to bring beginners to play and enjoy but has enough variety to keep recreational and intermediate players entertained. The course opens with an easy open field straightforward hole. The second hole adds a little more distance and a couple of trees. The 3rd hole is an accuracy shot through the trees, but htere are some good lines. The 4th hole is pretty much an open field with just one pine tree to intimidate the drive. Hole 5 is by far the best chance for an ace, but with ample OB it can be challenging. Hole 6 allows you to bring out your distance throw for an up hill shot. Hole 7 allows for a couple different approaches to a tee tucked in a small grove of trees. Number 8 can be difficult with a drainage ditch as OB on the right and trees on the left. The last hole is up hill at the end, but a decent finishing hole. They use the park well and have some modest elevation changes, and some trees incorporated.
Cons: While I play this course frequently, and enjoy it a lot there are some cons. The first hole is covered with goose poop frequently, and since I have a friend with an irrational fear of geese, the fowl can also be bothersome. There are some chances to lose discs with errant shots, such as in the pond, or in a couple of backyards. Also there is not a lot of distance on this course. The wind can also wreak havoc at times on this course.
Other Thoughts: I enjoy this course, and for me some of the holes are a challenging distance. The marked pars are nice for beginners. This is not as good an all around course as Riney B. I do rank it higher than Centennial for the trees in play, even though Centennial is longer. If you are in the area, this is a nice 30 minute course with a decent quick layout, and tends to be fun for all.

Pros: Lake Mingo is a shortish, nine-hole course in a public park, and an excellent place to learn disc golf. Three holes are long enough to let you learn distance. Four holes require (relatively simple) technical throws. The course opens with a shot over (or around) the corner of a lake, and closes with an easy shot across an open field. Played with the marked OB's, the course becomes much more challenging - particularly 1, 5, and 8 on windy days.
The course has nice tee pads, good signage, close parking and port-a-potties, trash cans, a water fountain by the skate park, good flow, and is easy to navigate. It is placed in a friendly, open park that is easy to find. There is almost always someone playing this course.

Cons: The park can get crowded, and that can interfere with disc golf on occasion. I've had helpful kids a few times pick up my discs and bring them back to me. A few holes can get muddy when it rains.
Other Thoughts: Lake Mingo was two blocks from my house for years so I've played it 100+ times; it continued to be reasonably enjoyable after all that time. I really like the new over-the-lake shot on #1. I've heard folks complain that the course is too short, but then I've seen the same folks turn in high scores. Lake Mingo is a beginner's course, but it's more difficult than it looks.
Feel free to throw when the geese are in your way; they are used to discs and will impassively dodge your throws. But beware their ample droppings.
#4 pin has moved to the left. It is now guarded by the trees and culvert. And, as noted above, #1 is now a shot over water.

Mingo Lingo/Ice Bowl Style
Pros: This course is a small open 9er that wraps nicely around a multiuse park with a lake. There is a shelter house, plenty of trash cans and a bathroom. Most of the holes are open, a few have spares big trees. There are some OB and a small drainage ditch come into play. Saw my first ace on a temp hole, disc hit a large rock and bounced in. Despite the course being in a small park there are some nice holes. Definitely more of a beginers course. But still fun.
Cons: Only 9 holes, but as was said a good warmup for Riney B, as it is less then a mile away.
Other Thoughts: Have fun play disc golf.

Pros: A fun 9 hole course with a little bit of everything. There's a few long holes, a few short ones, a few where OB really comes into play, and some elevation changes.
I found the first half of the course a bit easier, but the last part got a bit more challenging. There's an opportunity for a birdie on all the holes, but some require a much better shot to do so than others.
The signs and tee pads are in great shape. The layout is good, given what this park has to offer.

Cons: I think this course is aimed more towards newer plays, but I still enjoyed playing here and it served as a great warm up for Riney B.
There were quite a few geese and duck droppings around hole 1, but that's the only place I noticed this.
The course plays close to the walking path in a few area's so please be aware and courteous of other people in the park.

Other Thoughts: Don't go to this course expecting a challenge and you won't be disappointed; it's a course for newer players. Despite this, I still thought it was an enjoyable 9 holes of golf.

Patience Required!
Pros: Good shot variety for a 9 hole course.
OBs are in play to add to the challenge (walking paths and concrete drainage ditches).
Nice Teepads & good signage.

#2 - Tucked in behind a large tree(it was more challenging prior to bushes being removed)
#7 - Forehand beauty (or turnover) to a pin protected by large mature trees and an OB ditch if long.
#8 - This hole can really bite you (especially on a windy day) - Trees and other fairway to left and OB length of the fairway on the right. Big tree right in the middle to go around. Challenging hole.

Lots of walkers to watch out for. You've got to be patient on nice days.
