 Nice 9 hole course

Pros: Lake Mingo is a well maintained 9 hole park with excellent baskets.

The course has some good basket locations, I especially like #2 where the basket is behind a tree and several large bushes. There are not any real technical shots, but on the holes with trees you will need to have decent accuracy.

Most holes are in the 200-250 range, with one uphill hole that plays around 350. The course was developed for beginners, and is fairly easy.
Cons: Not a lot of length here, but is great for practicing midrange shots.

Hole 1 is installed close the pond, and the fairway is usually covered with duck droppings.

The park can get really busy in the summer with kids and people walking around the park trail.
Other Thoughts: This course is good for a quick round, as it only took about 25 minutes, and is playable with a midrange and a putter.

 Great Beginner's Course

Pros: This 9-hole, recreational course is great for those new to the game. Harder than it looks, this course will help develop a new player's game. With ample OB and oftentimes challenging wind, this course rewards accuracy and precision. In addition, the course has top of the line tee pads (concrete, 12x6), nice signs, and good baskets (Mach III). On top of all that, it is set in a beautiful park.
Cons: This course is not for tops ams or pros, unless they are playing it to work on a specific shot. The longest hole is only 324 feet, and there are not a lot of trees. While still being fun, the course could get boring for more advanced players.
Other Thoughts: Lake Mingo is what it is: a 9-hole, recreational course set in a city park. If you accept it for that, you will have a good time. If you want a championship level course, look elsewhere.

Pros: Great course to learn your short game. Also a great course for Juniors. Even with most holes being short this is still a nice course. Almost every hole has OB's involved, which makes the holes a little tougher. Most baskets are strategically placed by some type of obstacle.
Cons: The drainage ditches smell pretty bad and I can see there being a problem with drainage after rain.
Other Thoughts: This is a great course to warm up on. With Riney B just around the corner, I thought it was well worth it to stop by and have a quick warm-up round. I will most defiantly go back again sometime soon.

Pros: Nice mix of open and slightly wooded holes, great course for a beginner
Cons: Tons of people usually in the park, standing water in many of the fairways, swirling wind do to park being located in a valley, "wildlife" has been an issue during small event in the past
Other Thoughts: Not a bad little course for a newbie but its hard to keep coming back to a course where most holes are reachable with a putter. Not to mention ruining a pair of socks everytime you walk through a fairway.

Pros: Although there are a couple of holes that are fun, the cons outweigh the pros on this course.
Cons: If you play this on a weekend, especially a nice one, be prepared to yell "Fore!" a lot.
Other Thoughts: I really have nothing good to say about the course. I've been twice, and I won't be going back. If you live in the area, might as well go play the much more challenging Riney B (3 minutes away) or Shillito Park (15 minutes away).
