Short, Not Overly Technical, But Well Put-Together City Course 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 21, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

- Good concrete tee pads.

- Good signage with course map available online.

- Overall well maintained course and park.

- Even though there's a creek, it's fairly difficult to lose discs. A previous review said chance of losing discs is high, but this is probably only the case in spring.

- Although holes only range from short (170') to medium length Par 3s (Around 300' is the longest).

- Baskets in good shape overall, though a couple are a bit tilted.

- Enough trees to force you to take some different lines even on the shorter holes, it really is an intelligently laid out course in spite of the limited space it has to work with.

- Lots of parking around the course, no issues there.

Cons:

- Back 9 is a waste of good tee pads and signage, the Front and Back are so close I really feel they should have just kept it 9 holes and let the locals make up alternates as needed.

- Course throws over walking paths and very close to roads and public amenities. Place was empty when we played but I can imagine some long waits/ sketchy situations in high summer season when the public and kids are around.

- No real standout holes and a lot of the holes do funnel down into the creek which is a bit annoying.

Other Thoughts:

- Course is very short, nowhere to open up with big drives. Not a destination course, but a great place to sneak a quick round in.

The Great Equalizer 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 14, 2015 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Centrally located, well maintained, and great teepads.

Cons:

After rain, the creek can be high and fast moving. The potential to lose a disc here is very high.

Other Thoughts:

While not a long course or a hard course by any means, this course has a tendency to give a novice having a good day a chance to beat a more experienced player pushing their luck. Short holes, but an interesting mix of shots.

Fun Small Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 10, 2010 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Quick play
-Easy to locate
-Easy to Navigate
-Good use of land/layout

Cons:

-Short pars

Other Thoughts:

Located right in Winnipeg, this course allows quick round during lunch or whenenver.
Although listed as a 9 hole course, there are two sets of tee pads and two sets of baskets; the tee pads are actually labled 1-18.
I can't imagine playing this course in the winter, but I am sure the extra layers of clothing to stay warm makes up for the short pars.
