Pros: Great location. Good use of space. A very nice mix of fairways, with good use of trees and natural flow of park. Placed on the edge of a small town, on the brink of a NZed highway, and slapped in the middle of some beautiful mountain ranges. Stop in at either cafe within shouting for a tea and a smile.
Cons: only a couple baskets, the rest are 'labeled' objects. 4'' metal tags denote targets, which are easier seen as you walk around the course, throwing towards something you already assumed as being the target out of frustration at not seeing the actual target. First play through is a Con, but after that, once it is known, spectacular for what it is. some interesting use of holes (2 and 4, look for the actual tunnels), which keeps it interesting, though you still let a sigh of relief go on the few baskets you aim for.
Other Thoughts: Like everything else in New Zealand, it's better when earned. Play this course once to learn it, just throw in the right direction when you aren't sure and the target will become obvious (and make note of the hole names, BIG HINT). Then play it again, and again, and again, laughing at the obvious holes you missed before, and their ingenuity. Or walk around alot looking for how its made, then walk back and go for it. My first Object course, so not sure how they are supposed to be. At least the objects were labeled.
